i thought that pulling oettinger was wrong and the way he did it was really unprofessional. i’m not sure he could have stopped either goal and his teammates didn’t exactly help either.
what he said after the game just made it worse.
i mean, he went to casey desmith in an elimiation game. i’m not even sure i can trust him after that.
If Oettinger had let in two softies to begin the game, it could have been….justified?
The Oilers scored on two “grade A” chances where the goalie wasn’t to blame.
And as you said, your backup isn’t some great older goalie or a prime prospect that could surprise, HE’S FUCKING CASEY DeSmith who hasn’t played a game in the past month and a half!
I was never a fan of Deboer, it’s not the first time he messes up with his goaltenders. Remember the Fleury fiasco in Vegas?
