ParticipantBraiden asked:
Would you try Heienmam on 2nd line?
CC- Suze- Slaf
Heinny – 2C – Demidov
Newhook – Dach – Laine
Andy – Evans – Gallysomebody will have to go if we make changes
Depends what Heienmam we get – the pre or post car body check player? He did not look fully 100% after he came back, hopefully after the summer, he is good to go in October.
I think Dach or Newhook get a first look there, assuming they get a 2C.
Still would not be surprised of Dvorak comes back for a short / low cost contract.

You got the day off?

ParticipantWith this comment, Kick made me think about…
i guess he’s desperate to try to get people to come back and read his crap.
drew_doubty got a nice ban because after you all left his site and ek put up that “rossi to habs e4” i posted “yeah, that’ll bring em back” and he didn’t appreciate that very much.
We should all post that in every one of his blogs (not that I read anything else but the last Habs thread anymore. or the headline I quickly I glance at as I go to that thread).
LOL.
Anyways, i am good here. This place seems to have some good potential.

ParticipantGuys, it is Gretzky 2.0 – McDavid is gonna go to LA.

ParticipantDepending on how the draft unfolds, I expect 1 of those 1st round picks and a prospect (and some other picks, perhaps) to be traded for help.
But I also would not be surprised to see the Habs try to move up in the draft if someone they like falls.

ParticipantKick emphatically stated:
i’m a little confused about why there are 2 different places to leave comments anyway. would it maybe be better if they streamlined it into one place for comments on each blog? maybe it’s something they’re already working on changing. or i might just be misunderstanding why it’s set up like that.
I think you are playing in Pat’s sandbox….
EDIT: Need to carry over the small jokes, just getting them started.

ParticipantFido pondered:
alright, time to for serious business. assuming Bennett will remain in FLA or will be too expensive, my #1 target is Larkin in DET. GO HUGO GO!
He has a full NTC.
I am just not sure there is a top 2 center available out there (potentially willing to waive to go to the Habs), or a developing younger player that does not carry significant risk (turn into another Dach / Newhook scenario).
Gonna be interesting to see what they actually do, but I am not sure how much magic Hugues and Gorton have in them to make something like Larkin happen.

ParticipantPat exclaimed:
yeah, just looked at that contract again, it’s already pretty bad and it isn’t going to get better lol
Yeah, $10.5 for 50-ish points (60 in a good year) until 2029/30 (5 more years).
And he is already 32.
I mean, good for him, but no one wants that contract.

ParticipantPat made an interesting observation:
in the last 6 years Corey Perry was in the cup final for 5 of them, without winning once… tabarnak loll
Reminds me of Hossa.
He was traded to the the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008, who lost in the finals to the Red Wings.
The next year, he signed as a free Agent with the Wings, who then lost in the final to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
I think he ended up winning 2-3 cups with the Hawks later on, but that free agency / swap teams / “if you cannot beat them, join them” mentality to win a cup and failed, always cracked me up.
Also, good on Perry. He has played a lot of hockey at the end of his career still chasing another cup.

ParticipantPat sarcastically exclaimed:
if the Flames add Dustin Wolf, it’s a deal I’d consider
I’d settle for Rasmus Anderson… and they can keep Huberdeau.

ParticipantCrappy way to end the season.
But now it is time to focus on what crazy stuff Hughes and Gorton are gonna pull off in the next few weeks.
So hockey is interesting again!
