Marner Returns To Face Leafs In January

The Toronto Maple Leafs unveiled their 2025-26 regular season schedule on Wednesday, and as rumored earlier in the week, the season opener will be against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, October 8 at Scotiabank Arena. The club’s 82-game slate is decidedly home-heavy, with 31 of their 41 home games in October, November, December, and January, with only 10 games at SBA in February, March, and April.

The games most notable this season and perhaps for a long time will be against the two-time Stanley Cup Florida Panthers and against former Leaf Mitch Marner and the Vegas Golden Knights. The Panthers visit Toronto twice, on Tuesday, January 6th, and Saturday, April 11th. The first match between Marner and his former club will be at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 15th, with the game in Toronto eight days later on Friday, January 23rd, when it is likely that the ex-Leaf will get a warm welcome from Toronto fans.

Other notables:

The longest home stand is five games, from October 13 to October 21 (DET, NSH, NYR, SEA, & NJD), December 6 to December 16 (MTL, TB, SJ, EDM, & CHI), and January 19 to January 27 (MIN, DET, VGK, COL, & BUF)

The longest road stretch is six games from November 22 to December 4, January 29 to February 26

The Leafs will play back-to-back games 15 times, and play on Saturday 23 times.

Toronto will wrap their 2025-26 regular season schedule on the road against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday, April 15.
