June 15* – Deadline for first club-elected salary arbitration notification (5 PM ET/2 PM PT) *later of June 15 or 48 hours after the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final
June 15* – First Buyout period begins June 15 or 48 hours after the playoffs end, and the buyout period ends June 30.
June 23 – Last possible day for 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs
June 27 – Round 1 of the NHL Entry Draft
June 28 – Rounds 2-7 of the NHL Entry Draft
June 30 – Qualifying offers to Restricted Free Agents are due. Offers cannot be accepted prior to July 1.

July 1 – Free agency begins (noon ET/9 AM PT)
July 5 – Deadline for player-elected salary arbitration notification (5 PM ET/2 PM PT)
July 6 – Deadline for second club-elected salary arbitration notification (5 PM ET/2 PM PT)
July 15 – Qualifying offers expire unless extended by the team in writing. The team maintains rights to the player even though the offer expires.
July 20 – Aug. 4 – Salary arbitration hearings held
August 6 – Deadline for salary arbitration decisions to be rendered
