Flyers Quick Hits: MWM, Gaudreau, Fantasy Camp, and More

On the August 11 edition of Flyers Daily, Jason Myrtetus and I devote the Mondays with Meltzer edition to getting real about what the organization needs to do to truly reconnect the team with the fan base. Jason identified five key elements to doing so for the long haul — winning being first and foremost — both on an off the ice. Moreover, the organization will have to take some calculated risks moving forward.

Jason and I have a very frank one-on-one talk about what’s improved during the “new era of orange” and what still needs to get better. We also tackle several ala carte items that will carry over into upcoming episodes. The 40-plus minute discussion on the state of the Flyers flew by from my point of view, and I hope viewers will enjoy it, too.

Gaudreau Family Scholarship Golf Outing

In honor of the enduring legacies of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, Gloucester Catholic and the Gaudreau family announced the 2025 Gaudreau family scholarship golf outing. The event takes place on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Ron Jaworski’s Running Deer Golf Course in Pittsgrove, NJ. The day’s activities will begin with a remembrance ceremony for the Gaudreau brothers at 11:45 a.m. following registration.

Event purposes and fundraising purposes:

  • Support the ongoing education of deserving students at Gloucester Catholic High School: a cause close to the brothers’ hearts.
  •  Provide a meaningful opportunity for family, friends, and benefactors to come together, honor the memories of Johnny and Matty and raise money together for the community.
  • Celebrate the brothers’ fun-loving and caring personalities with a fun event both John and Matt greatly enjoyed off the ice.

Foursomes and individual registrations are sold out. However, the online auction and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

  1. Great to see the Flyers focusing on reconnecting with fans, and love the Gaudreau scholarship event—both on and off the ice, this stuff matters.
