Utah Mammoth Have 5 Prospects in Top 100

The Utah Mammoth have five prospects in the top 100 according to The Athletic. Scott Wheeler of The Athletic put out his Top 100 NHL prospects list in July. It is the most trusted list of drafted prospects.

As expected, the recently drafted Matthew Schaefer from the New York Islanders is number one on the list. He is followed by Michael Misa (San Jose Sharks) and Ivan Demidov (Montreal Canadiens) to round off the top three. Although the Mammoth doesn’t have a prospect in Wheeler’s Top 10, they did capture spot 11 on the list.

The Mammoth holds prospect spots 11, 28, 43, 75, and 80 on the list. Five prospects in the Top 100 are good, and having three of them in the Top 50 is even better. As the team strives to transition from a rebuilding team to a playoff contender, it’s reassuring to know that the future of the team looks bright with these five prospects in the system.
