Rick Tocchet’s Philadelphia Flyers are in Montreal on Tuesday for the second game of the 2025-26 preseason. The team will hold a morning skate in Voorhees and then fly to Montreal. The practice schedule is as follows:

GAME GROUP: 9:30 a.m. Morning Skate (Flyers Rink)
NON-GAME GROUP 1: 10:30 a.m. On-Ice (Phantoms Rink), 11:00 a.m. On-Ice (Flyers Rink)
NON-GAME GROUP 2: 12:00 p.m. On-Ice (Phantoms Rink), 12:30 p.m. On-Ice (Flyers Rink)

Philly won their preseason opener via shootout, 3-2 (4-3), against the New York Islanders on Sunday. Per usual, expect a very different lineup in the second exhibition game.

Notable players who didn’t play in Elmont: Samuel Ersson, Dan Vladar, Sean Couturier, Travis Konecny, Owen Tippett, Christian Dvorak, Travis Sanheim, Cam York, Nick Seeler.

Broadcast information

There is no local television broadcast for Tuesday’s match from the Bell Centre. However, the Flyers official website will carry a streaming broadcast. Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT.

Flyers injury updates

  • Tyson Foerster (elbow infection): Foerster skates and practices with the team on a daily basis. However, he will not play in a preseason game until the latter part of training camp.
  • Rasmus Ristolainen (right triceps surgery): Ristolainen skates on his own each day. He will miss all training camp practices and preseason games. The defenseman will be unavailable at the start of the regular season. His anticipated return is in November.
  • Karsen Dorwart (upper body): Dorwart sustained an upper-body injury over the weekend. He’s officially day-to-day.
  • Lane Pederson (upper body): Pederson left Sunday’s game in Elmont during the first period. He did not return.
  • Oliver Bonk (upper body): Bonk suffered an injury during Rookie Camp. The Flyers intially classified it as day-to-day. However, the rookie defenseman has not skated or practiced since then. He underwent further evaluation last week. There is no further update since then.

Montreal memorial moment

Bernie Parent was born and raised in Montreal (specifically in the Rosemont section). There will be a moment of silence in his honor before tonight’s Flyers vs. Canadiens preseason game at Bell Centre. The Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender passed away on Sunday at age 80.

On a related note: I wrote this article for the Flyers’ official website back in 2020. However it still fits today. The article looks at the special bonds that formed between Jacques Plante, Bernie Parent and Pelle Lindbergh. It was a labor of love to write the long-form article.

Additionally, the current episode of Snow the Goalie features a 2024 interview with Parent. It was shot at the Snider Hockey Fantasy Hockey Draft event. The Ed Snider Youth Hockey and Education organization was especially near and dear to Bernie’s heart.
