The Post-Lou Isles to Host 3 Fan-Focused Events

The New York Islanders intend to get maximum mileage from winning the 2025 Draft Lottery. The organization will host an NHL Draft party at UBS Arena on Friday, June 27. The announcement came on Thursday in an email sent to season-ticket holders from Islanders Owner Jon Ledecky.

“To celebrate (winning the NHL Draft Lottery), we are inviting you an NHL Draft Viewing Party starting at 5PM on June 27, at UBS Arena. What a wonderful way to spend a summer evening supporting your favorite team,” the e-mail states. “Mark your calendars! We will send you more details to follow in the weeks ahead.”

During Lou Lamoriello’s GM tenure, the Islanders never hosted a Draft Party. Then again, it’s hard to have a festive night without a first-round pick of your own. In four of the last seven years, the Islanders lacked a selection in Round One.

The email also revealed that the organization will officially host an Olympic kick-off event in February 2026. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced that would take place of the 2026 All-Star Game.

The last event announced in the email revealed that UBS Arena would host another marquee event in early 2027. That would likely be the All-Star Weekend. perhaps the All-Star Game format will be modified from the three-on-three division tournament.
