ParticipantAt least cut the penalties you get called for in half, hahaha
Shouldn’t be hard to do.
Even though they had all those penalties called on them they competed hard the entire game. I thought they would become passive.
Like to see a lot these hockey players leave their ego in the locker room like Murphys retalatory hit, bank what happened and during the game pick a spot where you make that player pay.

Good point Dots. Big reason Murph is on the team is to show the rooks what to do and what not to do. Must’ve gotten his dad’s temper (Gord), eh?!

ParticipantLast year Donato buries that shot.
If he did, it would have qualified the Hawks for the
“worst PP in NHL history to produce a goal” award -

ParticipantBad unforced penalty by Rinzel.
They got away with it, but the PK did not *look* good. -

ParticipantThe end of period 2 was horrible.
The Hawks were performing their famous “5 on 5 Penalty Kill”.9 SOG in 40 minutes, not great Bob.
Hopefully they can hang on.🤞
edit: Knight looks great.

ParticipantI’m usually pretty optimistic but the Hawks are pretty lucky to not be down a couple right now. It’s a young season so far but arguably playing worse 5v5 than last season. Losing a lot of puck battles, not protecting the puck, just giving it away at the wrong areas of the ice. Knight (and Soderblom) have kept them in games, but they have yet to have a 60 minute effort where they looked good. Just not impressed with this start to the season.

ParticipantThe third line just trying to work and will the team to their first win of the year. Have to admire the effort from all three guys on that forward group right now.

ParticipantBig win tonight! Knight was outstanding, the third line delivered, and it’s the first win for Bashill. Not perfect, but a win is a win!

ParticipantJust an ugly win, but a win. Utah really gave that game away.
I really hope Blashill stops going with 7 D and considers getting Mikheyev/Donato into the top 6. Down the stretch last year we had a top 6 like this
Donato – Bedard – Mikheyev
Bertuzzi – Nazar – TurboMaybe it’s just me, but I don’t think Dach is a top 6 player at the NHL level. Bertuzzi has been mostly invisible for long stretches for most of his Chicago career. I would be considering moving Donato and Mikheyev up the lines and Bertuzzi and Dach down to the bottom 6.

ParticipantMan what a win tonight. The time and space the team is taking away is fantastic, keeping Utah to half the ice was frustrating them, it became the iso show in the 2nd and 3rd period for them.

ParticipantI disagree with the popular opinion, i believe the harder working team won tonight.
