Let’s Go Flyers
Bill
I’m really starting to feel as though the mishandling of Cutter is going to haunt us in a few ways:
1. Had the Flyers played hardball with Cutter and given him the choice to sign or return to college (and risk getting hurt and not burning 2 years off his entry level contract) I think the kid would have ultimately signed. They would have had to mend fences, but the kid would have been signed.
2. He signs, there’s no Drysdale deal. If Drysdale isn’t here, the Flyers don’t have to worry about too many smallish dmen and can draft Zeev.
3. I think the combination of Zeev and Cutter is FAR superior to Jamie and Jett. Already Zeev is a better PP quarterback than Drysdale. Not sure how Jett will ultimately stack up offensively vs Cutter (and Jett plays a premium position) but I’m guessing Cutter has more offensive upside (far better shot).
4. Unfortunately it just reeks of bad management on the Flyers part.
It’s a bit of old news but as we see Cutter and Zeev start to blossom it will just make these poor decisions more costly.
Thanks for the work you do!
