PWHL Reveals Jerseys For Expansion Teams

PWHL expansion teams in Vancouver, BC, and Seattle, Washington, each revealed their jersey ahead of each team’s inaugural season on Tuesday. Team names and logos for the two expansion teams will be announced prior to the start of the season, according to the league. Those brand identities are not represented on the jerseys.

The teams’ home and away jerseys are similar to the original six teams’ inaugural designs, with the team city name text arranged diagonally across the front of each one. Per a league press release, Amy Scheer, Executive Vice President of Business Operations, noted the sweaters are “paying homage to the designs worn by the PWHL’s inaugural six teams in the league’s first season.”

The league indicated the yet-to-be-unveiled new brands are to be used in uniforms on ice in the 2026-27 season for the two newest teams. The PWHL did not announce dates for full brand announcements for Seattle or Vancouver.

Seattle defender Cayla Barnes said at the team’s press conference, revealing the sweaters to the public, that she’s looking forward to seeing the uniforms as part of a fan culture and identity. “That’s the hope. We want everyone in Seattle to have one of these jerseys.”

Expansion Announcements

The expansion team in Vancouver was announced on April 23rd, and its Seattle counterpart was announced on April 30th. Each launch included brand color schemes designed to reflect those cities. Seattle’s primary colors are Emerald Green & Cream, while Vancouver’s colors are Pacific Blue & Cream. Seattle’s jersey includes a third accent color of sky blue, and Vancouver’s accent color is a copper hue.

The third season of the league drops the puck on Friday, November 21st. Seattle faces Vancouver on opening day, and fans will see these jerseys in action for the first time during that game. Teams begin training camp on November 7th, with two pre-season scrimmages each ahead of the regular season.
