ParticipantBertuzzi runs hot and cold it’s who he is.
His start to the year has been one of many pleasant surprises this season.
Is he due to turn into a pumpkin? He had a run of 9 goals in 14 games last year, then went 19 games without a goal.
Even if he cannot keep up at the pace he started, just avoiding the big droughts would be huge for the team. -

ParticipantI didn’t get to see the first contest between these 2 teams.
Seattle plays this pain in the ass style of hockey which is effective
Kids just need to stay patient and support each other with Seattle and their opportunities will come.
To bad that puck rolled on Bedard

ParticipantThey really just need to embrace being physical in this game and play through every player

ParticipantThat Hawks power play looked like ass.
Wrinkled, hairy old ass.Burko went to the room for concussion check.
Overall, not a bad period.
They are ahead in high danger and expected goals.
Keep plugging away, don’t get cute. -

ParticipantYep and they have to anticipate a guy near them at all times.
They are really good at gumming things up, too bad we couldn’t even hit the net on 2 slight breakaway chances

ParticipantI’m interested to see replays for how the Hawks got so loose for that goal.
Someone on Seattle pinched? Both D ? -

ParticipantThanks.
Nice PP goal.
At this point Blashill should tell them
1) GET THE F#$%ING PUCK OUT
2) Only 1 defenseman is allowed past the blue line on offense. -

ParticipantIn a season of horrid 2nd periods, that was a great one.

ParticipantI love how they were able to control possession in the ozone several times in the 2nd period. Against these teams that play that chippy hip pocket defense that’s a great equalizer keeping them on the ice for over a minute a few times.
It’s so great having a 2nd line when your first line isn’t scoring

ParticipantI just have to reiterate i love how fast they are playing in all 3 zones, it doesn’t look like they are thinking at all.
Very few breakdowns i hope that continues in the 3rd.

Seems with each passing game the club shows they are wiser than their yrs of age. .. For sure, discipline is job 1 vs a muck it up excellent goals against vet group. They have stayed patient and structured and did damage when the opportunity presents. Staying structured, quick feet and darting in forcing quick decisions on the forecheck and then disruptive/darting speed/sticks popping outa the structure in the neutral zone along with the D positioned aggressively in the neautral is eliminating any chhance for any Kraken flow.
Very much like the energy and churning of their feet v Calgary and the same this game. …. …… Watching the SEA feed. Eddie O has mentioned a few times, and here to start the 3rd, the Kraken need someone to make a play. The Hawk speed, hunger, system, makes that tough for a not very skilled Kraken.

ParticipantLate in the 2nd I saw Arty and Rinzel carry the puck below the Seattle goal line.
I could live without that in the 3rd.
Not needed with a 2 goal lead vs a team ranked 28th in goals per game.
Wait for them to pinch, get behind them and make it 3-0.Make them go 200 feet again and again and again.
Somebody did that to the Hawks earlier this season. Just smothered them in the 3rd with a lead. -

Participant7 into the 3rd and SEA ties it on two deflections. Way too much possession for the not so skilled Kraken…… Hawks need to get their feet moving cuz they gave SEA life. .. I don’t wanna lose to this team.

ParticipantWith an A on his sweater Bedard whines like a punk in a 2-2 game that SEA already has all the momentum coming back from 2 down. Now they’re on the PP……..

ParticipantPlaying games just like this one in a playoff chase late in the season are needed for any team trying to make a jump. Tough loss after dominating for 2 periods is the kind of adversity this young group needs…….. Poor game awareness by Bedard but that ain’t what lost the game. Club stopped moving its feet in the 3rd, period.

ParticipantWell said Mr Ricochet.
Character builder tonight for sure.Fancy stats wound up rather even overall.
Regardless of particulars, Seattle earned a hard fought road win tonight. -

ParticipantNot really the refs gave it to them.
I don’t blame Bedard one bit you work your ass off and some ref who for whatever reason looked the other way on a slash, I’m surprised more players don’t have the courage to call them out. He did the right thing and i hope this team keeps doing it.

Too each his own but I hope the Hawk’s takeaway is nothing like your post, Dots. Keeping your mouth shut in a tied game, that your group gave up 2 3rd period goals to lose the lead with 2:30 left is Hockey 101 for a 15 yr old. ……… Watching the SEA feed Eddie O pointed out the ref didn’t put his arm up until Bedard reached the blueline sniveling the whole way. Ref will give you your bitch but don’t be a punk about it or you go on the PK and lose games/points.
Ref’s fault the team stopped moving their feet in the 3rd, Dots?

ParticipantWith the Burakovsky injury, the 11/7 backfired tonight, like you said Rico the Hawks stopped moving their feet in the third. With Foligno and Burakovsky unavailable tommorrow, and Dickinson I assume iffy, my guess the Hawks call up Slaggert to take to Buffalo.

Well said sir! I’m 100% in agreement with you, Mr Ricochet.
The ref let Bedard get away with a LOT.Note: I was also very disappointed with Foligno’s behavior last year after being named Captain.
He acted out like a clown several times, which did not set a good example for the youngsters.
