The Detroit Red Wings took five of six points after a three game road trip. Thus, the team continues to hover around the top of the Atlantic Division.

Hey Jeremy – I see a significant deal for a D-man at the trade deadline. Yzerman will weaponize his cap space and not relinquish his prime assets. I think someone like Faulk is likely in such a scenario. Something along the lines of Johansson and a 3rd may be enough if St. Louis doesn’t retain salary. If Power is somehow available, Steve could offer one of his prime goaltending prospects and more, but I think that unlikely until Summer if it happens at all. I think the picture will become much more clear after the olympic break.

Hello again and thanks for all the intesting reports,

I agree with the stats saying they will need more than 50% of wins, but Detroit doesn’t only need to go back to the playoffs, if they are swept in round 1, the whole season will be forgotten. They have to go there and be strong, not injured, not too tired if they want to do something. I read from a fan that Gibson used to play well in the season and didn’t want to rest enough ; he was wasn’t the same at playoff time because he was way too tired !
So as you mentionned, injury (or simply being too tired) would be devastating, but we not only need to squeak into playoff games, but be ready for the next step and get good experience for the seasons to come (especially the young ones, for the future of the team).
