All that matters right now is the bottom line.
If your goal is to make the playoffs, that is true. They got the 2 points but realistically it was two bad teams playing and one of them had to get 2 points. The game was pretty hard to watch. I do not see the Flyers being sellers at this point.
The Leafs are totally checked out, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Berube gone before the end of the season. That was as lifeless a team as I’ve seen and on a 4 game losing streak that figures to get longer. There was one point during a power play where they couldn’t even complete open passes with one bouncing off a stick and creating a shorthanded flyers chance.
With the playoffs pretty much gone the Leafs are in hell. They don’t even control their 1st round pick unless they get into the top 5 and yesterday’s point just twists the dagger a little more. Imagine trading Minten and a top 10 pick for Brandon Carlo.
