Trying to find a suspension shop that won’t just throw parts at the problem and charge me for guessing

I’ve got a 2014 Lexus LS that’s developed a bit of a shimmy at highway speeds and a slight clunk over rough patches and I’ve taken it to two different places already and the first one told me I needed all four shocks and control arms and basically a full front end rebuild and quoted me a number that seemed designed to make me trade the car in out of despair and the second place said it was just a wheel balance and maybe a tie rod end and sent me on my way but the shimmy is still there and now I’m just frustrated because I don’t mind paying to fix what’s actually broken but I’m tired of paying for guesswork dressed up as diagnostics. Anyone else just completely burnt out on the upsell culture at some of these places or am I just getting old and grumpy about how things used to be when a mechanic would actually talk to you like a human being and show you the problem with a flashlight and a straight face.
