For trading down to or for trading Matthews and Nylander?
They already have Bedard and have tanked multiple times. Don’t think they care enough about McKenna or Stenberg to trade up. Also, they probably want to push to make the playoffs so they’d be more likely to trade for established guys like Matthews and Nylander than another 18 year old.
I think if the Leafs retain 50% on Matthews and Nylander, they could create a huge bidding war. Every single contender would be throwing the farm at us for either one for a cap hit under 7 AAV.

Nylander got too much time left on his contract to retain %50 even with the cap going up 104M but could also be used to reach the cap floor.
