I’m all for this it makes too much sense. Only issue I have with it is the western conference travel schedule vs the Eastern conference is heavily lopsided. I like to add I don’t like the idea a bottom playoff team can say get a hot goaltender & go on a run. My solution is a 10 team playoff format in each conference. 4 bottom teams a best of 3. Make them have a longer road to the cup & soften them up for the top 2 seeds. Make those teams that excelled for 82 games get some sort of advantage. The Abby Canucks played 5 series to win the Calder. Lastly the lottery would only have 12 teams not 16.
