Alexandre Texier will be representing Team France at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. It’s a huge dea;, not just for Texier but for international hockey fans who’ve followed his journey over the past few seasons.
Texier entered the 2024–25 season with a lot to prove after being traded to the St. Louis Blues from Columbus. And while he only played 31 games, he made a noticeable impact. All six of his goals came in games the Blues won, and he added five assists, bringing him to an 11-point season. For a team trying to build a fast, smart, two-way identity, Texier fits the mold perfectly.
According to the IIHF, France secured an Olympic qualifying spot through the final qualification tournament. Texier will headline that group in Milan. During the qualifier in Riga (Aug. 29 – Sep. 1, 2024), France came out flying—scoring 12 goals in two games—including a hat trick from Texier in a 5–1 win over Slovenia. Needless to say, on the international stage, he proved that he absolutely earned his place on this roster.
While Blues fans are still getting to know Texier’s game, this Olympic nod brings him instant credibility. Even more impressive? He was announced as one of the first six players on the French roster. That makes his selection even more meaningful.
With Russia still banned, France is expected to take their place as the final Group C team—joining:
- United States
- Slovakia
- Latvia
- France
Although full Olympic rosters haven’t been released yet, Texier being the only Blues player named so far is a major moment—not just for him, but for the entire St. Louis organization.
