Canucks Having Trade Talks About Garland

With the 2026 NHL trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Vancouver Canucks are one of the league’s clear sellers. This is because the Canucks are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings and are willing to continue to make changes to their roster as they embrace their rebuild.

Now, one of their top players is continuing to create chatter in the rumor mill as a trade candidate.

According to The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta, the Canucks are continuing to have trade talks with other clubs regarding Conor Garland.

Pagnotta also noted that while the Canucks are not actively looking to trade Garland, they are willing to hear offers for the 29-year-old winger.

Canucks Could Get Good Return For Garland If They Trade Him

With the Canucks looking toward the future, it is understandable that they are not against hearing offers for Garland. The Scituate, Massachusetts native has plenty of trade value as a proven top-six winger, so he could get the Canucks a very good return if they elect to trade him elsewhere.

Garland would also be far more than just a rental for any interested clubs, which only improves his value. This is because his six-year, $36 million contract does not kick in until next season.

Teams looking for help in their top six should certainly have Garland on their radar, as he is one of the top trade candidates in the NHL right now. He also has the potential to generate interest from both contenders and non-playoff teams due to him being locked up under contract for so many years.

In 37 games so far this season with the Canucks, Garland has posted seven goals, 15 assists, and 22 points. This is after he had 19 goals, 31 assists, and 50 points in 81 games this past season with Vancouver.
