We’ll do a lightning round edition of Quick Hits today. The annual Flyers Alumni charity golf tournament is today at Dupont Country Club in Wilmington. Jason Myrtetus, Anthony SanFilippo, Brian Smith, Chris Therien and I are on site to record a special 80-minute combined edition of Flyers Daily and Snow the Goalie. Bundy will play in the golf event. However, he will be part of the opening few segments of the podcast.
Special guests during the pod include Joe Watson, Paul Holmgren, Mike Knuble, and Mark Howe. The program will stream on YouTube in its entirety on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, last night, Jason and I recorded the weekly Mondays with Meltzer edition of Flyers Daily. We talk about the Flyers offseason, the upcoming NHL Draft party in Atlantic City and much more. First, however, here’s a couple quick hits for June 23.
- Round three of Maxim Shabanov to the Flyers reports went viral yesterday. While there remains a strong possibility the 24-year-old KHL standout signs with the Flyers, there is no finalized deal to report. However, the player hired an agent to represent him in North America. That’s a crucial step toward selecting a destination in the NHL. Wherever he signs, it’ll be a one-year entry level contract.
- In case you missed it, Chris Therien wrote a Therien’s Take for Hockey Hot Stove centering around his own NHL Draft experience back in 1990. From forgetting to wear deodorant and sitting in the stands worrying that he stank to hanging out all night with Petr Nedved after the Draft, it’s an entertaining read.
- Thank to everyone who stopped by to say hello at yesterday’s Walk/Run/Ride in Conshohocken for the Charity Clssic Weekend!
- Tomorrow, Smitty and I will record a pre-Draft edition of the Flyers Prospect Pipeline podcast. I will be onsite on Friday with the Flyers’ media content at Draft headquarters in Atlantic City. Mike Augello will do the same in Buffalo. Apologies in advance if Friday’s blogs get edited and posted a bt late.
