#LeafsForever faithful a couple quick notes on newly acquired Matias Maccelli, the pride of Turku Finland. A silky smooth highly skilled left winger that is just one season removed from a 57 point campaign. He fell out of favor last season with the coaching staff in Utah and found himself soul searching for his confidence to go along with finding favorable ice time as he battled injury in the eye of the storm. When he’s at his best he controls the play by hanging onto pucks and extending plays with his elite first step in and out of cutbacks. A magician with the puck that plays really well in “high ice” of the offensive zone, spreading out a defense generating grade A’s. The change of scenery could do this kid wonders. He’s such a talent. I hope they let him play his game in Toronto. A guy that slots in the middle 6 and takes a fella like Nick Robertson’s spot. Will be cheering for MM. Love his game too..
