They put too much of their plan into buying players in 2026. The only reason I can think they signed Tk, Tippett, and Sanheim to long term deals is because they thought they’d be able to add a difference maker or two this summer. Now they have all these guys wasting their primes on a team going nowhere for at least another two years. I do still think they can get good value for Tippett, but they seem to really love him.
