ParticipantI want to address this proactively. Yesterday, six weeks out from our soft launch, we received Google Adsense approval. Our readership is growing fast and we hit the thresholds two weeks ago to apply successfully. That’s a great thing is one sense — the site can become financially viable without paid subscriptions. It also creates challenges.
First and foremost, none of us want HHS to become bombarded with ads. We want just a couple ads, prominent enough to worth advertisers’ while, but not obtrusive to the point of turning off our visitors. Temporarily, and I do mean as short-term as possible, we have auto-ads turned on. Those will go away as soon as possible and be replaced by fewer and less obtrusive ads.
Secondly, we realize that, to grown our forum community, user experience is vital. Keep those suggestions and comments coming, please! They are all passed along to our site’s development team (FZP Digital) to fix glitches and generally make it a smoother and more hassle-free end user experience.
Lastly, as the summer moves along, we aim to bring in more team-specific bloggers. I personally want to add dedicated blogers for Chicago, Edmonton, the west coast clubs, the Penguins and the Bruins as soon as possible. Previous published writing experience is preferred but not a deal-breaker if someone has the interest, dedication and aptitude.

ParticipantThanks for the update Bill.
I don’t mean to be a nitpicker, but there is a typo on the NHL DRAFT page. You show a date of June 31, but as you know the draft is June 27-28. I also like the league schedule information added to that page.
Also, are they any plans to show any future trades and free agent signings somewhere on the site? Maybe add a TRANSACTIONS link on the top banner. Keeping that updated over the next few weeks will be a full time job for someone, LOL.
Keep up the good work.

ParticipantOverall traffic is going fine. The Forums are off to a slow start, however.
