ParticipantElliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast this morning: “I don’t know if there’s anyone (in the league) trying harder to do things than Montreal.” Mentions Dobson and reiterates that they want to add another forward to play with Demidov. “The Canadiens are aggressive.”
Good to read

ParticipantStarted a new topic Draft and UFA Bingo Card (the game, not the poster).
Thought it might be fun to see what other crazy predictions others might have for the 2025 NHL Draft and UFA.
Cannot wait to see what people share and think!
Is Dobson a habs yet?

ParticipantAn Orange Cat, who grins like he is silently farting, said:
Stephane Lefebvre was running a country club … very few players graduated from the AHL under the Bergevin/Timmins/Lefebvre regime.
That’s why Bergevin was forced to trade away picks to keep the team competitive (and keep his job), his only strategy was to keep Price happy and build a turtle shell around him … that’s why Molson eventually cleaned house.
I will never say enough how grateful I am to have seen their incompetent asses go away … we’ve been improving ever since once we committed to a full rebuild.Once of the main reasons I have a lot of patience for this rebuild.
It was a complete organization overall, new philosophy top to bottom, and getting the guys who could execute on that.

Participant“For sure.
But it was more than just drafting mistakes – they had terrible a terrible development team.
I wonder how some of those players might have turned out if they had the development programs the Habs have put into place since Gorton and Hughes showed up?
Who knows… but I think it is just as important as good drafting.
I may not like some of MSL’s decision making during games, but from him down to Laval and the rest of the development team that works with players in all leagues, that has made a world of difference.”” – Mash

ParticipantHe has played 302 NHL games more than anyone in this chat room.
Not defending the 1st round pick, but the guy has made due with the limited skillset he has to have a decent career.
If not for Leks, that draft would be a complete bust.
302 so far, there’s a chance he makes it to 500
