I think dubas is a sit on his hands till the last minute type of guy. I suppose he still has today to help out teams by taking a bad contract for a price. So I’m gonna guess he isn’t going that route. Based on his draft day moves I believe he has 0 intent of making the playoffs unless these kids just click or Dan Muse is the second coming of Gordon Bombay. But I also don’t believe he’s drafting for long term success by not keeping two good picks in the draft, although I can only imagine who he would have chose with pick 12.
So far his ufa decisions have been pretty bad. I know he said he didn’t plan on going ufa shopping so I guess we will see. I imagine we pick up some bottom 6 scrubs to go along with the other oversized group of bottom 6 players we have. I hope we trade rust and Rak though. Decrease all chances of winning for McKenna. Give the kids the chance and let Jesus take the wheel.

By the way, I’ve tried to send DM’s to multiple regulars on the HB board. I think EK has cut off my ability to DM people. I got through to superhenderson. Sent ones to MacPatty and Tojo. Was trying to send more to Grinder, Kid and Rolo and I started getting error messages about those people didn’t exist. Oh well.

EK obviously reads the DM’s. I’m pretty sure he locked me out from sending them although he hasn’t banned me yet. Doesn’t matter. He’s destroyed that site.

I discovered today that no matter how many times I come back into this site, unless I press refresh while here, I will never see new posts. So, the multiple times I popped in since the draft to see what you guys were saying, and comment, there was nothing new for days and I just thought something might have been wrong with site and no one could post.

For some reason, I can now send DM’s again on HB. Sent an invite to 123kid. This site is still a little clunky. I’m sure they’ll figure it out, but I had to log in 3 times in a row. It’s kind of hard to find the forum part. I hate to say it, but they need to integrate the main blog from RW with the Forum threads on the home page. Like HB…lol. I like how anybody can create a thread….that’s a good idea.

Good day! I’m From HB 2008 when Brian Metzer used to post. Nice to see everyone is back.
I’m assuming everyone thinks we will be pretty quiet today? After the dust has settle, then I can see us trading a veteran.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we sign a guy or two for 1 year deals to trade at the deadline again even though I’d prefer not to and play the kids.

Boeser re-signing with the Canucks has to be good for the Pens. A lot of the top forward talent on the market seems to be staying with their current teams, which should raise the price for Rakell & Rust. Ehlers doesn’t seem to be signing anywhere today, so it might take a while for the Pens to do something.

I emailed support here about this. I can’t comment on anything RW writes either which I believe is the same for a few of us. Obviously meltzer put a couple RW blogs in the forum so it’s doable so that we can support RW. Also reiterated flyers suck in email.

A few places are reporting that the Pens are working on a deal with Mantha.
Should hopefully be a cheap reclamation project for the 3rd line. We definitely need more LD and depth players. Love it.

Good for Ned and us. Really want to see the Acciari trade to wherever. Then I want to see a Rakell trade and EK trade at some point this summer.

I saw a couple other outlets echo the signing and figured it was a go, but the team never announced it.
Honestly I like it for a deadline flip. If he does well like 20-20, could fetch a first.

Def glad one of the goalies are gone. Blommer can backup, or possibly start when Jarry goes off the rails and murashov will start in the A. I guess we don’t have too many ppl ready to make the jump to the big leagues but all these random little signings seem to be more roadblocks.
Feels like the Russian is closer at this juncture but I expect both to get a chance sooner rather than later. I don’t think Jarry is long for this team one way or another. Either he preforms and gets traded or he flops and get buried down the depth chart. Dubas has already shown a willingness to send him down.

I know the Pens are currently 23/23 roster contracts…maybe even 24/23 now with Mantha signed, but this will probably change with trades and also some guys will probably hit waivers/get sent down in camp.
Still some decent names on this list. I would like one year deals for guys like Orlov, Olofsson, Roslovic, Kuznetsov and more on this list to be able to get more draft capital at TDL. I would love Ehlers but he’s probably going to want a lot for a long time and that doesn’t really fit the Pens right now.

If they keep signing guys, they’ll all be stuck in the AHL again. Not saying they need to be with the big club all season, but I’d prefer to give them flavors of the show and send them back if they aren’t ready.
Pens need to be sinking near the bottom of the standings so definitely don’t go after Ehlers lol hopefully they ship out EK and one of Rust/Rakell for more assets. Hell they should ship out both Rust and Rakell but who knows if they’d do that.

I’d be surprised if any of Rust, EK or Rak are Pens after the TDL. Agree on the tank. If not for Sid, this team would be bottom 3 this year.

I see you guys picked up Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (RHP for us Habs fans) … I think you guys did good here.
I’m happy for him … good guy.Not a bad winger (3rd line) but he got sidetracked with injuries over the last 2 years so he was passed by in the Habs hierarchy of prospects.
His numbers looked good in the 2022/2023 NHL season. His AHL numbers since then aren’t where’d you’d like to them.

Yeah, he was coming along real good in that season … but he’s been playing with injuries ever since then, he only played 40 games last year so his numbers show that.
If healthy, I’m sure he could be a useful addition to your team … in any case, you only signed him up for 1 year so it might be a risk worth taking. JMO -

I would love Ehlers for the same reason, to shake at TDL and get more draft capital. He’s not going to sign for only 1 season, though. Ehlers, or no Ehlers, this team probably isn’t going to be in the bottom 5 of league standings, this upcoming season IMO.
They would have been bottom 5 this year if it wasn’t for JArry’s late season heater.

I don’t know about that. Perhaps, I guess. Still though, I don’t think they’re one of the worst 5 teams in the league as currently constructed. I would put them in the 6th to 12th worst. Jarry is still there and capable of heaters. He is also part of the team and the current roster construct I speak of.

I’ll be surprised if Rust, Rak and EK are Pens by the TDL. If a couple of those guys go, this will easily be a bottom 5 team. Poor Sid.
IMO they should be gone sooner than the TDL. Poor Sid, but we’ll see how the season goes.
