This Leafs team is better than previous versions. Their time will come. They just need to keep adding pieces without losing their best players.

Why do people say to get rid of Matthews? I bet you’d take McKinnon on your team though right? The guy has gotten out of the second round ONCE in his career and that was when he won a cup.
He also made the playoffs once in his first 4 years. Has been to the second round more than Matthews though. Regardless the point is, you don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Keep the top centerman. -Aaron
Have you ever watched Mackinnon play compared to how Matthews plays? Matthews is every bit as lazy, frightened and useless as Marner. When the going gets tough, not one of them (MMTNR) rises to the occasion.
If Woll sucked, the game would’ve been over in the first 10 minutes. This team did not show up in the two most important games of the season on home ice. That is an indictment of the club that Brendan Shanahan assembled.

Yes, he must stay. You improve the team by keeping your best players, not letting them go for nothing in return.
Losing Marner is not addition by subtraction like it would be if it were dumping Rielly. There is nobody out there to replace him. Nobody willing to come here for less who will provide more either.
