For 3/4th of the 1st the Hawks looked more connected as a group than I’ve seen this yr. Every line. If this is what Blashill’s systems will look like once the team gets them down the club will regularly be dangerous and structured… Really great brand.

At times this team can just swarm the opponent, really impressive. It seems to be happening more and more.

Hi anxiety plays by Knight in the 2nd, glad the team could bail him out, nice to see Kaiser get a goal.

Credit to Bedard going to the tough areas to score the PP goal.

Great result, but man the youth rears its head in the 3rd. You gotta nitpick to find fault in anything Bedard has done this yr but up 2-0 with 9:00 left in the 3rd you don’t try and skate thru two defenders at the attack blueline. The hook with less than 2 too go up 1 was bad to. It almost cost em points. …. Club was connected and came in layers and waves. Along with their speed and structure the Kings couldn’t handle the Hawks for long stretches. That should only get better with NHL reps and familiarity with Blashill’s systems.

Slowly but surely I’m starting to believe Knight is a Hawk. What a blessing for Hawk fans.

That read was elite. The timing had to be perfect for Bedard to pop from the bumper to the high slot or else the open ice would have been defended. That’s how the best of them do it. ….. Great play by Bedard and Bert too.

This is how I saw Lardis as a jr. He’s very good at finding open ice in flow and although not Bedard’s shot this kid gets it off in a blink and it’s accurate. Great vison and IQ.

Last yr Bedard would have thought next time I’ll skate thru them. This yr he knew instantly he mucked that up. Those mistakes outa him are becoming less and less. …. By the time the kid is 23 I doubt that happens.
