ParticipantGet rid of Fox. I’ve said it for years. He’s to small, overrated, always hurt. Get what you can and move on.

ParticipantPanarin and Drury I think have a rocky relationship after Drury ripped him a few years ago after the ECFs. Drury doesnt strike me as a guy who mends fences.
I still dont see the need to resign him. Trade him and say thanks we had a good run but you arent that player we needed. This team isnt going anywhere with him so why bother resigning him? Let the retool begin, who will take Miller or Mika?? Those contracts will be tough to move even with their approval. Its going to be a dismal 4 years in Rangerland if we cant get these contracts off the books. Our pipeline is practically bear. So many first rd busts is a disaster.

Ok, saying Fox is always hurt is a bit of a stretch. Prior to this year hes played atleast 72 games in 4 straight seasons. Missing a couple games here and there isnt a big deal. However, I still wonder if that knee on knee injury that he played through ever fully healed… and whether or not hes only made it worse without taking proper care of it. It always seems like we talk about Fox before it and after it, and how he seems to have lost a step. As far as trading him goes, would I? If there was a crazy offer on the table. Despite the sputtering offense, hes still near a PPG.

They really should trade Panarin and promote Gabe to full time duty. Its ridiculous what theyre doing to the kid.

ParticipantPeople saying we should trade JT Miller seems odd and would be an incredibly bad look on the Rangers… To trade for him the year before, make him Captain, then trade him, would kill… I mean absolutely kill the look of the NYR and we would have an incredibly hard time signing free agents. Panerin and Zib are absolute possibilities… Trotchek and Miller, I highly doubt…

Miller I highly doubt will get traded, however… Trouba was captain for… 2 years? If you can even call it that, since he basically spent most of 2024 defending himself, using his NMC to block any trades, taking crap in the summer until it ultimately came to a head and he was gone. So to say it would be odd for Miller to be moved, yes it would, under different circumstances… however, its not beyond what Drury would do. Miller and Trocheck are a couple of Sully’s USA guys so I think that should protect them as well.
Continuing on that thought, the way the Rangers handled Trouba and especially Goodrow already marred the way other players look at this organization. This is actually the biggest reason why I want Drury gone.

The Rangers have traded their last 3 Captains and the longest tenure Ranger in this era. They dont give a shit about the players. This organization was killed last year when Drury made his open for business statement. Gavi signed, if the Rangers over pay, they will come but who can we over signed that will move the needle for this team? We arent in a playoff spot so does it really matter to sign someone next season? There arent any big name players out in FA.

Miller is going to 33 in 2 months and has 4 years left after this season at 8 mill, who would really want him? He better have an outstanding Olympics otherwise he wont have much value at all.

ParticipantIf Drury goes and trades a 1st round pick for Kiefer Sherwood (after he could have been got for free 2 years ago, which I was praying they would but these dumbasses didnt), I will be livid.

I’m not disagreeing with you that we should not trade a first round pick (or anything) for kiefer Sherwood. But i am gonna go ahead and suggest that there’s no way you knew he’d be more than a fringe roster player.

A fringe player? No, did I think he would be a solid bottom 6, 3rd line addition? Absolutely! His last year with NSH was 10g 27pts, 234 hits playing only 12 minutes a game. Those are exactly the kids of guys we needed on this team at the time. Gritty guys who provide secondary scoring.
