ParticipantThanks for someone finally being honest about it Brad.
“If we were not in a no-tax state, it wouldn’t work out, probably for two guys. Two guys probably would be leaving in that situation,” Marchand said. “That’s a benefit that this team has that we able to utilize and make work. I’m thrilled to be here for the next six years.”
Lots of good reasons to play in FLA or TB or Vegas but the math is the math and no state tax does in fact equate to more cap space in those states.

Florida has always had low taxes and its only recently that its become an enticing place to play…..because they’ve been winning….and thanks to some cap circumvention…..which I know….most teams could have done as well. So bravo to them.
Low taxes helps, but if the teams in low taxed states arent winners….most players wouldnt sign there.
Also, no team in their right mind was giving marchand 6m x 6 years….in for teams in higher tax territories….why would anyone want to pay him $8m x 4 or 5 years?
