I know I like doing line ups, but I am genuinely curious about the holes or Tree & Berubae’s logic if they don’t sign any one else and wait until TDL.

After watching a Joshua video of “what he brings to the Leafs” kinda interview, I get a strange feeling he’s going to be given a chance as the Knies of the second line.

    Knies, Matthews, Domi/Marccelli
    Joshua, Tavares, Nylander
    McMann, Roy, Marccelli/Domi
    Lorentz, Laughton, Boyd//Pezz

    McCabe, Tanev
    Rielly, Carlo
    Benoit, OEL
    Myers

    Stoli
    Woll

So that’s how I see the line up as it stands now.

If Rielly gets his shit together, I don’t mind our D at all. G is good for another year but I do think they should lock up Stoli early and trade Woll for a less oft injured solid #2 or #1B type.

Forward group I don’t really mind but there are 2 question marks for me:
    1. Domi as 1RW?
    2. Marccelli as 1RW?

To me the bottom 6 could be wicked good if we had:

    Marcelli, Roy, Domi
    Lorentz, Laughton, Pezz/Boyd

Robertson, McMann, Kampf, Jarnkrok should all go for cap space and I saw a idea/rumor to trade Robertson for Trochek and I like that idea. He’s a no quit player.

    Knies, Matthews, Trochek
    Joshua, Tavares, Nylander

That top 6 could be pretty tough to handle with the bottom 6 line up from above. And, moving Jarn, Kampf, Robbie would clear more than enough space for his $5.25m.

So how confident would you fellas feel about this line up going into the playoffs:

    Knies, Matthews, Trochek
    Joshua/Marccelli, Tavares, Nylander
    Joshua/Marccelli, Roy, Domi
    Lorentz, Laughton, Pezz/Boyd

    McCabe, Tanev
    Rielly, Carlo
    Benoit, OEL
    Myers

    Stoli
    Woll

Actually, I trust that line up a helluva lot more than the last 9 seasons. You guys???

IF Joshua works out I share your thoughts that this proposed lineup should be more trustworthy than last few seasons. They need scoring from the back end (more – like they had in round 1 this year although that level may not be sustainable or achievable again) and of course secondary scoring as always.

Lol all good. It’s the dog days of summer well past the TDL and the Jays are rocking and rollin’ so the Leaf chatter is pretty low priority for many.

    Cheers!????

Not sure I trust it more or not. Most of the disappointing playoff no shows still remain.
Gonna be another, “lets see what they do in April” year for me. What occurs in the reg season simply wont matter to me.
One thing I know for sure…is with every win, the Marner haters will go on about how he’s not missed, and with every lost the Marner lovers will go on about how its the end of the world.

For now, I’m on the Leafs will miss his reg season points…but it wont be the end of the world…or cost them a playoff spot.

Unless Matthews goes down for an extended period of time

Don’t care too much what the opening night roster is as it won’t be the same line up by the time the playoffs start. However it is time to start injecting youthful energy into the line up and seeing what we have in our system before we give them away and their potential thrives elsewhere. As long as there are no Kampfs Reaves Dewars Jamrocks etc I’m fine with it.

Technically there are only two playoff no shows on the team: Marner and an injured Matthews (which I think is a big problem that’s been hidden for seasons).

The bigger problem for me was the bottom 6 not contributing and Stoli getting fucked in the ear by Bennett. I feel both of those issues have been solved in a few ways.

Marner, the dry-haired motivational speaker, is out so I am very interested to see how this all pans out. Don’t care about individual points or winning divisions. I want a playoff team that is just doing their thing during the season and then kicks some some serious ass in the playoffs. Plain and simple. I think this team is closer to that than it has been for a few years.

Technically, Marner has more career playoff points than everybody on the current roster. And technically, you’d be retarded to consider him a no-show when he had 1 GWG and 2 GWA vs the Panthers.

The Leafs did nothing to fix the team, just filled it with a bunch of 3rd liners and added zero high impact players and brought back the same losers like Tavares.

If Florida targeted Stolarz, what is going to stop them from doing it again? A new 4th line pylon who sits in the press box during the playoffs?

How dry is Nylander’s hair? I’d say it’s perfectly dry, especially after his disappearing act vs the Panthers. How many goals and points did Nylander have in Game 4-7? Zero? Nylander feasted on a weak ass Ottawa team and then wilted vs. the Panthers. So did Tavares. Another true no-show vs. the Panthers.

This team is not closer to success. It took a step back and it got worse. The rebuild is around the corner as soon as Matthews takes off next.

I was of the mindset that losing Marner made us worse too. But it seems he quit on the team and city more recently than we think given a lot of the reports of him inquiring about Vegas. It all remains to be seen but I have a feeling guys on the roster might be happy hes gone given his quit attitude and whining and crying. I think Nylander a couple of years back went off on the bench about stop crying and whining and complaining was directed right at him. There is no proof or evidence what this team will be without Marner but we do know playoff success with marner was never there and while he may lead in points it never came when it mattered. Let’s see what happens next before we conclude with certainty what will or won’t be. We have cap space, depth and flexibility. Let it play out before making final proclamations.

End of the day marner new before any of us did that he was going to Vegas and we could have rantanan right now if it weren’t for him. So fuck Marber. Fuck his dad. Fuck his whining. Fuck his quitting. Fuck him.

All he had to do was be a Toronto boy who could read the market, take less money to be a hometown boy, but he let his dad lead the way, got greedy and fucked off when the going got tough. Good riddance.

There is only one fact here. Marner chose to leave the Leafs, the Leafs did not let him walk. The only thing the Leafs did was try to Rantanen before it happened.

Absolutely! Jays playoffs games are a great atmosphere, I’ve been lucky enough to have gone to a few games but this one (although technically not a playoff game, it was a play in wild card game) was amazing to be in the park and see live.
