was barry melrose or don cherry not available.
mcdavid and drai should both pack their bags and gtfo.
what a joke.
Yup and it was McDavid and the leadership group who asked for it and approved it. They know they need a hard ass coach. The only piece missing is a goalie.

ParticipantKeep hearing Matthews to a California team for 2 1sts. Seems like San Jose.
I don’t believe it. That would mean they are rebuilding, which I think they have no appetite for. Instead, they will keep Matthews and fail miserably, again. I would not be surprised if they eventually let him walk for nothing. That would be the stupidest move, so it’s perfectly Leafy.
I wish they would make that trade for #2 AND #9. The problem I have is the Knies roomors. I would prefer they keep knies. He is young enough to be part of a rebuild. Now that Byram is gone, maybe those roomers go away.

ParticipantThis isnt GM mode on the PS5….why the hell would the leafs retain a minimum of 12$ of wasted cap space? Who is giving up 6 -7 1st rounders? Thats so fucking stupid and unrealistic.
Also, the leafs do not have their 1st rounders for the next two years and they need players to fill the line up….they cant sell off everyone.Get back to reality
Was Ottawa playing GM mode on PS5 when they traded Tkachuk for 3 1st round picks? Was Carolina playing GM mode when they got 3 1st round picks for Rantanen?
Sorry dipshit but players get traded in the NHL and guys like Matthews and Nylander would be worth a lot with 50% retained. Contenders are giving up a lot of draft capital, young roster players and top prospects for pieces at the deadline. Happens every single year. You’re just too stupid to know it or remember. The Leafs could rebuild their entire roster by selling off their biggest assets.
Yes, if the Leafs suck this year, miss the playoffs or even lose in the 1st round again, they absolutely can and should sell off everyone. Bringing in a dozen 1st round picks is way more valuable than worrying about the 1st they traded away.
Reality is, this team sucks and needs to be rebuilt if you want to win a Cup. If you want to keep watching them lose when it matters, keep burying your head in the sand.
Dummy, 2-3 late round picks (one was the 9th) is a far cry from 6-7 1st rounders.. youre just too stupid to tell.

Participantmsn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl/
MSN is a trash source for pretty much any information but even that link says the following:
The Flyers’ pick remains protected if it lands inside the top 10 of the 2027 NHL Draft. Should that unlikely scenario occur, Toronto would be permitted to transfer the pick to Boston instead, with Philadelphia receiving Toronto’s 2028 first-round selection.
The pick is gone. It’s just a matter of whether or not the Leafs give it to Boston in 2027 or give it to Philadelphia. If the Leafs tank and that pick ends up 1st overall, they’d give it to Philadelphia and give Boston an unprotected 2028 1st round pick instead. Absolutely nowhere does it say “the 1st round pick is protected and the Leafs would retain it”. If that were the case, it would say “the Bruins would get a 2028 1st round pick and the Flyers would get the 2029 1st round pick”. It doesn’t say that. The “protection” is the option to avoid giving Boston a top 10 pick in 2027.

ParticipantMan you are one triggered little angry bitch aren’t you.
I get it though, you hate being called out and the fact you were and are wrong thrown back in your face – delicate little flower that you are.
You project A LOT eh? I mean calling people retards, now accusing someone of a ‘cuck lifestyle’ but if anyone would know what that is I’d say it’s you but I imagine it’s not really possible unless it’s happening in a video game you are rage playing in mom’s basement with a mitt full of cheezies.
Later clown bitch, I’ve grown bored of you today.
Enjoy being a retard somewhere else Retard Ranger.

ParticipantNo, actually, it seems to stipulate that the Leafs decide whether or not if the Flyers get the pick or if the Bruins get it if it lands in the top 10 and the other gets an unprotected 2028 1st round pick. The 2027 and the 2028 1st round picks are gone, no matter what. It’s just up to the Leafs to decide who gets what.
My argument is that if the Leafs blow up the team, the vast number of pieces they get in return mitigates losing the picks and is also time sensitive because if they wait too long to blow up the team, they’ll get significantly less pieces AND ALSO lose their 1st round picks which would set back the Leafs years. Blowing up the team is the significantly lesser of the two evils and if done correctly could turn the team around quicker than expected much like Montreal went from 1st overall to Conference Finals rather quickly.
