I think they could’ve done a lot more to convince him to stay. But they kinda played stupid when the fans were being inappropriate towards him. They just let the narrative become anti-Mitch.
Anyways. Like you said, it’s done and over with. Now if the Leafs don’t have a successful year that pressure will be on Matthews.
