Precisely. Just like how Matthews is a bum for his production in games 5-7 of the playoffs, but you couldn’t POSSIBLY say the same thing about he who shall not be named.

If they traded everyone over 25, draft McKenna. If they’re going to keep this core and want to add a piece they need to compliment Matthews and Nylander, pass on the one-way, small offensive winger and take a power forward or RHD instead.

Teams that draw penalties are usually controlling the o-zone which forces opposing teams to get tired and eventually take a penalty.
If the Leafs PP was 8th or better in efficiency, they’d be in 1st place right now. Having a retard like Savard run the PP and losing Marner has been the difference between 1st and dead last.

Matthews scored a GWG vs Florida in Game 6.
Knies and Marner also had GWG vs the Panthers last year. Kucherov had 0 goals and McDavid had 1 vs the Panthers by comparison.
The problem wasn’t the Leafs top line. They did their job keeping Barkov in check while scoring 3 GWG. The problem was Tavares and Nylander were absolutely caved in defensively and disappeared offensively.
