The Rielly dreaming is cute.
I honestly believe he wouldn’t go anywhere but Vancouver, and I doubt Vancouver would want him, and if they did what would they hand over?
Just accept and let yourself get numb to this particular pain.
The Canucks absolutely suck but he might go to Seattle, which is a better team and not that far away from his home province. He’s certainly woke enough to live in that garbage city and actually enjoy it.
Get a load of this absolute fucking retard. You have a TERRIBLE defenseman, on a TERRIBLE contract, for the next 50 years, WITH A NTC, and you think ANYONE is going to take that contract?!?!?!
Then, if Tre does manage to find a trading partner that MR will waive for, we’ll have to throw in a sweetener, and then you’ll complain that we’re throwing away assets.
You truly, positively are the dumbest fucking fuck to ever be fucking dumb.

ParticipantNot on game day, not on practice day, not on team meeting day.
The point of living at home is going there every day. Playing for any other team kills that, the end.
If he’s willing to accept playing for another team then his list should be the lowest taxation states so he can have the highest take home possible. If anything I could see that I suppose. Imagine how much nicer his take home would look being away from Ontario’s 53.53% hit on home games to let’s say Nashville’s 37%? He gets about $46.3K post taxation a home game atm, there he’d get around $61.5K.
Guess I wouldn’t blame him for agreeing to be moved to somewhere like that (or similar) for the next 4 years.
Holy fuck you’re dense.
The point of being closer to home is that you’re closer to home. He currently lives on the opposite side of the country. He’s also not 12 years old. He doesn’t have to go to mommies house every single day. Seattle is a 1 hour flight from Vancouver. It’s plenty close enough to “home” compared to Toronto.
If some other team wants him, find, dump his ass in Nashville, I don’t give a fuck where he lands. But Seattle is more than good enough to be closer to his “home” town than he currently lives now.

Get a load of this absolute total fucking retard who forgot that Erik Karlsson has been traded, multiple times. There’s always a GM out there even more retarded than you are who is willing to take on a bad player on a bad contract if the circumstances are in alignment.
Seattle has over 8 million in cap space. If the Leafs take back even half of that in another “bad” contract, they don’t have to sweeten anything. Desperate teams make desperate moves all the time trying to change their luck. Just as an example, Seattle has Montour on the LTIR and could use a puck mover. They can afford to let go of Oleksiak on an expiring contract. Not complicated retard.

ParticipantLet’s say they find the way to move Reilly, but what is the next step to make D better?

ParticipantLet’s say they find the way to move Reilly, but what is the next step to make D better?
The next step is blowing up the team and rebuilding. This D can’t be fixed, it can only be rebuilt.
Tanev is fucked. His career is basically over. If he does come back, you trade him immediately and hope somebody gives you a 1st round pick next year.
Same goes for OEL. You trade him at the trade deadline because he’s playing well and he doesn’t want to stay on a garbage team. So that could bring you a 1st round pick.
McCabe, he’s injured but that’s another guy you could trade to a team looking to make the playoffs (back to Chicago?) for a 1st round pick.
Carlo is injured but maybe you can trade him to a team as stupid as the Leafs were at the trade deadline.
Rielly, you dump for whatever you can. You don’t have to get back anything of value. Just removing him is a victory.
After that, you just have to draft, draft, draft and develop new players. You sign veterans on short term contracts and trade them at the deadline until you have young guys who can play full time.

I don’t believe it can be fixed either.
Tanev is a hero, but he should retire, he is one or two injures away from getting into very serious health problems.-

Danford is on Team Canada WJC. The Leafs need 3 or 4 more guys BETTER than him in the next 3 years.
If they tank this year, they can draft Keaton Verhoeff who would be the Leafs first big, RHD 1st round pick prospect in a very, very long time.
If they trade Matthews to San Jose and Nylander to wherever, they could bring in multiple 1st round picks and prospects too.
Won’t happen until Treliving is fired though. He’s too retarded to rebuild properly. He only knows how to destroy teams.

That’s my point ding bat. Does being that close to home for 4 years matter that much? Why the fuck not just only agree to go to where you can earn the most? Then, since his next contract in his mid 30s (if he gets one) will be cheap as hell that’s when he can take it close to home.
All I’m saying is that he should just say fuck it, and go make what he can since I’m doubting competitors will ever see him as a core piece.

Horrible signing.

ParticipantSweden wins the all star game shootout competition bs the Fins to play for gold.
The shootout should never be used to determine this type of thing IMO.
I also hate the 3 on 3 OT for all playoff games including the gold medal game in the world juniors now.
Gold Medal games are 3 on 3 until a winner no shootout. So basically a completely different game from the other 60 minutes.
Give me 5 on 5 OT for any and all “playoff games”. No shootouts.

But it was a great game otherwise.

It was a great game – I feel like the finicky ending kinda ruined it but I’m a traditionalist when it comes to hockey.
For me a tie is fine in regular season or round robin games and deciding games should only ever be 5 on 5 OT.
