Problem is, everybody is “only 3 points out”. People have been saying that all year. Every other team is competitive which only makes it harder for the Leafs, regardless of the illusion that they’re “only” 3 points out. Buffalo won 10 in a row and they’re still barely a playoff team.
The Leafs absolutely suck on the PP for most of the year, they suck on goals against, they suck on the road, key players are injured perpetually and they have the 3rd hardest schedule left in the NHL (with more road games than home games).
They have a 15-20% to make the playoffs and then have their asses kicked in the 1st round.
No matter how much people want to BeLeaf, this team is not a true contender. People pretending that being a wild card team is an accomplishment are a joke.
