ParticipantWhen we do well in October, opposition fans tell us that October games are not important.
And then when we are meh in October, youse guys tell us we should panic.
Leafs fans just can’t win (yeah, go ahead, I just teed it up for you).
You know what Wedgie old pal, I’m gonna show restraint and respect here and not send that ball out of the park.
I’m no Springer after all.

ParticipantJays are playing in the World Series when most thought they wouldnt make the playoffs.
this fuck stick needs to be angry and rage at something all the fucking time, just the biggest loser energy.Angry and rage is what your post here is. I’m not angry or raging about anything. Just laughing at the fuck stick losers that were chanting against Ohtani for being possibly the greatest player to ever live.

This is because both groups are correct.
Doing well in October means nothing in January or eventually May. But not doing well in October is still obviously worse.
The Leafs have had strong starts followed by falls off a cliff. What they need to be is strong off the start and consistent through to the end. That’s why people decry October results one way or the other.

ParticipantWell as a fan of a team looking to lift the Octocup, I think it’s pretty nice to be on top of the standings while it lasts.

Would you be in favor of the team with the best record after 41 games be given an automatic playoff spot? And the same for the team with the best record from game 42-82?

Not really, this isn’t two 41 games season, it’s an 82 games season. What would be the point of the remaining 41 games for the team clinching in Decembre? Why would anyone pay to watch those games?
But I appreciate the “out of the box” thinking there.

So to clarify:
Top two overall records in the division: Two playoff spots with home ice advantage.
Best record after 41 games in the division: Playoff spot.
Best record after 42-82 games in the division: Playoff spot.Obviously, no repeat teams. A team can only qualify under one category.
It’s not my idea, I saw some guy talking about how baseball should reformat their playoff system. I’m just applying the thought experiment to hockey.
I agree, it’s one 82 game season, however, this idea has some benefits. The point of the remaining games is that the best overall record still gets the higher seed and home ice. Also, it removes some incentive from teams giving up on their season just because their first half or second half was bad (or filled with injuries) which helps reduce tanking and the annual trade deadline selloff and thus gives those fans something to watch rather than give up after half the season. Some teams, like San Jose, are going to be bad no matter what, but a lot of those tweener teams would have a lot more to fight for.

ParticipantMarner is 2nd in ice time among VGK forwards.
How is he 3rd pair on the PK when he is 2nd in PK time among forwards? Makes no sense, like most of what you spew.
JT is garbage when it matters most. His value in October means nothing.
He did not finish top 10 in Selke voting in 2019, he finished 19th. Another basic reading of numbers you failed miserably at.
He’s been useless defensively in the playoffs in recent years. On the ice for most goals against last year in the playoffs. Horribly exposed vs. the Panthers.[/quote]
Marner is on the third tandem over the boards on Pk. He is NOT the first two. That means he (and the other forward he goes out with) is called by Cassidy – that makes him the 3rd set of pkers.
Ice time: you’re so quick to make fun of people, but but you don’t realize is you just look like a fucking moron yet again as you always do. Such a little fuckhead – the fact that his ice time is higher on a PK doesn’t suggest that he gets put on the ice more or FIRST OR SECOND – it means he stays on the ice more so now I’m gonna argue that because he fails on the PK so far in Vegas that’s why he’s on the ace cause he gets hemmed in his own zone where the other two pairings which is why Cassidy has him on the third are able to clear the pocket and get changes. But of course you always have to try and I say try to be the smartest guy in the room so you come up and you scramble with all these reasons why you’re right but really or not again wrong.
JT: he finished 8th (2014 my typo but point still correct juts date). And the fact that you even just admitted he was nominated for the selke was not long to begin with. So I’ll just cut the semantics (even though I’m right), and I’ll say sure. But how can someone as bad as you say he ALWAYS has been defensively (and I agree actually) and still get nominated? Because fat little dorks like you vote. Not players – tools obsessed who can’t skate.
So you my little incel are once again…WRONG.

Learn how to press the red button that says quote. I know you have so much CTE that you have to sit in a dark room for the rest of your life, but open your eyes a little wider and maybe you can see the button in bright red that says quote.
3rd pair PK but 2nd in PK time per game. You are literally too retarded to understand how stupid that is.
JT’s Selke votes in 2014 mean absolutely fucking nothing. You were WRONG. It wasn’t 2019. It wasn’t 2025. He was defensively trash vs. Florida. He was actually offensively trash too between game 3-7. Literally useless, like you when you talk about hockey.

ParticipantLeafs PP back to being absolute ass.
I think the Leafs could be on the PP for the entire period and still manage to end it tied or behind.
How many PP do you need in a period to get ONE goal with who should be the best goal scorer in the NHL in his prime?
