ParticipantJeez, that free agent class for next year is looking… uh… uninspiring.
I feel like Matthews is walking at this point. He and fancy pants were bros, and I don’t think our future ex Captain is happy about how things shook down.
Then trade him! He’s probably willing to waive his NMC if you’re right!! 😜

Honestly, Im fine with Matthews leaving or being traded.
But what are you basing his unhappiness about how things shook down on?November 17, 2025 at 3:15 pm #49505WHIPPER

After they got eliminated last year, 16/34 and a couple guys were golfing together two days later. El Capitan said after 16 left that they would be friends forever or something along those lines. Matthews hasn’t seemed to be playing with the same passion so far, either.
The whole thing gives me Lowry/DeRozan vibes, minus the part about winning a championship.

This and he’s a goal scorer who is now playing for a coach who wants this team playing a style that aims at 2-1 or 3-2 type wins. Can’t see him liking that too much.

Well, that’s CLEARLY not working, so it’s probably Berube who is going to have to pivot, lol.

Some guys are buying it and some aren’t. This is why the team seems so bloody lost. Ffs coach find a game they’ll all be willing to at least try and play.
Does Berube get through the whole season if the leafs keep playing like this? Maybe Tre should just trade the entire coaching staff with another team? lol

Leafs are second in the league in scoring. Problems are being able to get the puck out of their end and mistakes. It’s not a systems problem, it’s an execution problem.

<p style=”text-align: left !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s19-styled=”true” data-text-align-feature-value=”1″>Well said real CC, if they win a game sweet, if they lose that sucks but oh well, it’s just a game not the meaning of life lol
The older you get, the more you realize that it is nothing more than a hopefully entertaining diversion. I was more bummed out by the Jays losing than the Leafs last year and I am by no means an avid baseball fan.
I think it becomes easier to shrug it off when you don’t like the team much. I admired the Jays team and I felt like they got kinda got shafted by a brutal call on a fluke play.I remember many years ago now actually enjoying the Leafs team because they had a new crop of young stars and you could see some hope. That iteration is already coming to an end and if it isn’t, it probably should be.

Except, DeRozan got Kawhi and an immediate championship. Treliving got dick on a stick after he let Marner go like a retard.

This team is incapable of being 2nd in scoring and 2nd in defending. This Leafs team either doesn’t score and defends or it attacks and loses 5-4. It’s built upon core players that play one-dimensional hockey.
The difference between this team and the Phil Kessel team, is now we have more Phil Kessels.

They had the 7th or 8th fewest goals against in the league last year when Stolarz and Woll were actually stopping pucks. Not so much now with Stolarz at the bottom of the league in GA.
Obviously they’re not playing well defensively. They make too many mistakes and McCabe and Carlo are playing like crap. They may not be a very good team but I think they can and will play better than they have been. I think we see some trades fairly soon.

Stolarz wasn’t just average last year, he wildly overachieved. So if you’re expectation is that the Leafs goalies have to overachieve every single season just to be in the top 10 in GA, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Some idiots, including Treliving, didn’t believe it but I told everybody that Stolarz is a career back-up. He had a career year. He has injury problems and can’t play a full season. He fell back down to Earth. This team was not playing good defense last year or this year. They were just getting extraordinary saves that aren’t there anymore.
McCabe was given an extension. Carlo was acquired for a top prospect and what could become a 6th overall pick. That’s on Treliving’s idiocy, among many other stupid moves he made this offseason.
You’re delusional if you think trades will make this team better. Treliving loses every trade he makes in Toronto. Trades making this team better is like expecting a blind raccoon to perform brain surgery on a gunshot wound.

ParticipantI saw an error the page – so here’s the correction: (actually an error in genetics making an error)
Treliving ASKED mitchy to go for a FAR superior winger, and mitchy (as was his right…thanks Kyle) said WAAHH NO, put out his bottom lip and was whisked away by his daddy to a safe house as the death threats keep pouring in.

23BigIQPoints as retarded as ever.
Mitch didn’t want to leave. Management and retards like you pushed him to leave. Enjoy the collapse of this team and the next rebuild as a result of your own retardation.
