ParticipantI get what you’re saying but I won’t lie, I’m starting to become happy that he only signed for a 4 year deal. Injury or no, Matthews is not playing like he did prior to his current deal.
He’s no longer a top 10 player he’s drastically falling off, he’s more like a 20 – 30th ranked player, which is a big problem for the leafs. To suggest trading him for a kid who hasnt even played 30 games in the nhl is foolish. We’ve seen so many kids explode into to the league and fall right off or plateau. -Fakesies
Definitely not top 20. Probably 20-30 somewhere.
At some point people are going to have to admit that letting a 100 pt. guy, in his prime, walk for nothing was a huge mistake. There is a reason no other team in recent memory has done that.
