Tbh, it’s primarily how pouty he is, he doesn’t have to be physical, look at Willie ffs, he isn’t. But Mitch, he cries about shit or looks like he’s about to and I can’t stand guys like that. I’ve had part of my brain removed and just had titanium put into me in September and do I cry/whine/pout about it? No. I just keep going. And Mitch just isn’t that type, he’s a crybaby, and that’s why I don’t like him.

Furthermore, the biggest whiner in the NHL for a very long time, was Sidney Crosby. He was a crying bitch for years, especially towards referees. Guess what? Didn’t matter. Still won multiple times. Why? Because he was a dedicated two-way player with drive and determination. You have no idea how much or how little any amount of “whining” actually made the team worse. Looks to be a lot of whining coming from Matthews that he doesn’t have his #1 playmaker anymore. Looks to be a lot of whining that the Leafs are the 6th worst team in the NHL and 2nd worst in the East. Looks to be a lot of whining that the Leafs PP, PP and 5v5 play all absolutely suck. Why? Because the Leafs allowed an elite player to walk away, replaced him with a pile of dog shit and are now surprised it’s not working.
What successful nhl team has a captain who arrives to games in his fanciest clothes and carrying a purse? NHL players, the tough ones that clubs win championships with, don’t carry purses. They don’t have a purse collection. Imo there’s something strange with how Matthews dressed up for the cameras. He’s just not a guy other players will follow into battle.
