ParticipantIf last night was indicative, I think Kindel is here to stay. He was slotted in at 3C, one of if not the most heavily scrutinized forward spot for defensive play, and played a great two game and dominated the dot. Those are the things that always get kids sent down and Kindel excelled at them.
He’s not physically mature. He was tossed around a bit and struggled on the boards, but if he can play 3C that well at age 18 then struggling with the physicality of the NHL is still going to be better for his development than skating circles around juniors.

ParticipantThat’s a bold prediction but I like it and agree if he can stick top 9 duties then its the place for his development.

ParticipantWhat would be your guys thoughts on doing something like I believe Anaheim and … someone else did and limit kindel and brunicke some games to allow them rest and more time for bulking up? Or just play him till the wheels fall off?
If we are close to a wild card spot I’d say maybe go hard but I’d think at any bit of wear and tear I would rest them for a road trip or a few games. Help keep the penguins injury curse away from them.

If this were a contender, I’d do that (give them games off). I still can’t get past thinking this team is a bubble team at best and I want them to be patient for one more year. They should have been giving Sid/Geno and Letang random games off the last couple of years. A compressed schedule this year is going to be tough for this team.

Counter point: we’re the best team in the nhl and winning the cup.
