ParticipantThe New York Rangers remained perfect in outdoor games, notching a 5-1 win over the Panthers at loanDepot Park. Mika Zibanejad notched the first ever

ParticipantInconsistency is the trademark of this team. Top 6 have multi point games and then go cold, bottom six scoring is non existent.

ParticipantPanarin for a 1st 2nd and prospect
Trocheck for a 1st 3rd and prospect (look at the Nelson deal from last year)
Soucy for a 3rd
Carrick for a 2nd or 3rd (seems crazy but I really don’t think it is)
Brodzinski for a 5th
Get whoever else u can to waive. Load up on draft picks, tank the season and hope we land in the top 5. This is a deep draft, having 4 1st in a draft like this would be huge for the future of this organization.

It depends on what management views this team as. If they think this team can win, which is laughable, then they arent selling off.

…and I think history to this point has shown that they will continue to buy, and continue to build around a flawed team. It would genuinely shock me if we had more than one 1st round pick after the deadline.

That would be a pipedream. I know, dont need to say it again, but they should try to move Mika too. Maybe if they do this firesale, it might get him to waive. Id trade JT Miller and LAF too. Laba to be 1C after the deadline between Cuylle and Perreault!

ParticipantQuote isn’t working, but Brukie. If drury does what’s best for this organization, he sells everyone he can.
Do I think that’s what he’ll do? No, bc he’s a weasel that’s worried about nothing but his own job.

ParticipantY’all giving up already is typical 🤦 this isn’t an attempt to ruin y’all’s pity party either, carry on, but…
If they can finally make a statement at home and win a bunch there, it’ll be big because they have 8 more home games to road games the rest of the way.
What they need is get and stay healthy. They really haven’t had a full and healthy lineup at all this season. Trocheck was hurt, then Fox and now Miller.
As far as Drury goes, going into this season priority number 1 was to get better defensively and they’ve clearly done that. Manly because of Sullivan and Gavrikov. That’s two positive checks for GMCD. The scoring has taken a hit but seems to be getting a little better as the year is going along and is it his fault these guys can finish? Obviously yes (sarcasm dripping)
If we’re looking ahead to next season I would trade pretty much anything for Jason Robertson, and re-sign Panarin. Stars could be a in a pickle there being to afford him. It will cost one of Perrault laf or Cuylle, Schneider or Morrow and a first but Robertson is a game breaker/wrecker they lack so you have to do that imo. They’re in pretty good shape with the d corp where they should put all the efforts into improving the goal scoring
My two cents. I’ll go crawl back under my positive thinking rock now 🤣

ParticipantTJ, the forever optimist. And I say that in a good way.
But put the everything is rose colored glasses down for a minute and be realistic. This team has to many holes.
Allowing Panarin to walk for nothing would set this franchise back tremendously. His ridiculous asking price for a guy that will be 35+ is a hard non-starter.
Our bottom 6 is a mess and we’ve put ourselves in an uphill battle for playoff positioning.
What drury has done, clearly hasn’t worked. As much as you want to call him a genius, he isn’t one and has hurt the future of this organization tremendously.

Normally playing at home is a good thing, unless you’re the Rangers.
If Dallas decides to trade Robo, we likely wont be the highest bidder. We also cant afford to have both Robo and Panarin. Also like was said, Im not paying 11m to a 35 year old.
January 4, 2026 at 11:14 pm #58074slimtj
ParticipantThey really have no choice but to re-sign Panarin
Rangers could afford both guys. Idk why you think they couldn’t. They have an almost an endless amount of cap space with not much out there to spend it on.

See, youre as much of the problem with why this team wont be able to get over the hump. Constantly enabling this retool of a flawed team instead of just letting it go and rebuilding the right way. We had a nice little run for a couple of years, but its over. This team aint it.
Why do we have no choice but to resign Panarin? Because hes our main scoring threat? Boo hoo. This isnt a cup winning team and it wont be until they get a group of players that play for each other, instead of just showing up to work.
January 4, 2026 at 11:44 pm #58079slimtj
ParticipantWhat the hell are you guys watching this year? They at the very least play for each other. They just cant score enough. Everything else is better this year. You guys are stuck in last year still. Get over it already my god
Let me guess, they really miss Buchnevichs 23 pts? 😂
January 4, 2026 at 11:50 pm #58080slimtj
ParticipantAnd you guys have absolutely no patience whatsoever. They had a massive makeover and it will take time to get back to where they were.
What are the hopes for Aspinall? That’s what they need more then anything, is a guy like Laba who they drafted can make noise as a goal scorer. All I know is this kid is putting up massive numbers this year
January 5, 2026 at 12:01 am #58082slimtj
ParticipantThey aren’t rebuilding. I mean they signed a goalie to 12.5 million, they signed a dman for 7 year, they traded for a new captain and hired a win now guy as HC. Besides, they have 3 first rders the next two years. Obviously that’s been forgotten about lol because Genius Chris gets credit for nothing
If they fall out of it, what if they trade Panarin, and then re-signed him? We aren’t in a cap crunch by any means
