If the New York Rangers have not hit rock bottom now, we should be afraid to find out what that is. The Blueshirts gave up a pair of hat tricks and a

Instead of “Chris Drury, the time has come to pull the plug” it should read, “The time was come to pull the plug on Chris Drury”.

Sullivan is a plug also. Said it from day 1 before they even signed him. He’s been a loser for 8 years in a row now.

This team could only hope Drury gets fired, this is a complete mess. If Dolan watched this game he has to be saying to himslf how can I trust Drury?? Sullys hiring hasnt turned things around (Who would have thought 4 coaches in 6 years) It is the players it falls on, it is time to clean the house. At least Mika picked it up, he should fetch a first rounder, Rangers should eat a lot of these contracts to get the best possible return. Im not up to date about the new rules about retaining salary, if any of the 3 posters on here know please explain them.

As far as the rules of retention and all that stuff, it hasnt changed. This is the last and final year that you can do the double retention with a second team. The new rules kick in next year.

Ill skip Quinn, but hence forth 3 coaches in 5 years. We want to blame the players, and on some level they as professionals need to do better. However, how in the world does a team develop chemistry and cohesiveness when every 2 years theres a new coach, a new system and theyre being blamed for their culture in the locker room? They appoint a captain, then a year and a half later start ripping him to shreds, becomes media headlines in trade talks and gets crapped on by fans.

DET seems like a logical landing spot for Panarin at the deadline. Loaded with prospects and picks and has a ton of cap space ($62 million by the deadline).

ANA is another team with a ton of picks and prospects, although I’m not sure they’re quite ready to start burning 1st rounders on pure rentals. Maybe a guy like Trocheck would interest them who still has some term left after this year.

Trocheck’s cap hit will definitely have some teams salivating.

Panarin for Duck’s wouldnt make a ton of sense. They dont look like a team thats a Panarin away from being a cup contender. Also, their problem isnt putting pucks in the net, their biggest issue is keeping them out of the net. I think the Kings could be a team that is a good fit for Panarin. They’re on that playoff bubble and could really use some help scoring. Id love to get Greentree from them.

I wish there was a universe in which we could trade LAF for Robo.

…and Ill stick to my guns hoping that Ziba would accept a trade to the Wild. #pipedream

While unlikely, what would a Fox to the flyers trade look like?

Highly doubtful that Fox goes to Philly. He has a NMC for 2025-2026 and M-NTC after that, plus his $9.5 million salary is a little high for Philly to take on.

it i doubtdul as I said. Salary isnt an issue.

just wondering what a deal would like is all seeing the path the flyers are taking

Probably a lot more than the Flyers would be willing to give up. You’re also asking Fox, a kid born on Long Island wearing a Rangers jersey, to go play for his life-long rival. This would almost be the equivalent of seeing Mantle or Jeter in a Red Sox jersey.

Apparently Drury is still all over acquiring 30 year old Kierfer Sherwood to add to the top 9 smh. Let’s give up more assets for another 30+ year old. Wtf is Drury doing.

Because were clearly a Kiefer Sherwood away from being a cup contender.

I like the player, hes that feisty type, but this would be an absolute buffoon level move.

Hes also on an expiring contract, what exactly has this team done this season to inspire someone to want to resign here? Especially considering Drury’s history.

      I don’t think I’ve ever hated a Ranger player/employee more than I hate Drury.

Trade Panarin Trocheck ZiB (if we can) Laf Carrick (love the player, he’s the only one that gives a damn night in and night out, but I think we’d be pleasantly surprised at the return).

Trade FOR Trent Frederic. I think this is one we’d be able to acquire a mid round pick on top of the player. Make EDM eat around 1 million, give him a chance as the 3C. Also brings another physical presence in for a rebuild. Having a terrible year but only a few years removed from a 17 and 18 goal seasons. Still relatively young (turning 28 next month).

No need for a 28yo, just burn it down and start over, first thing is first, FIRE DRURY!!!

Like I told Tj, the Drury is a genius thing didnt age well, really fast. Hockey is a team sport where you need comradery and chemistry, Drury destroyed both and this thing just burned down.

Not about needing a 28 year old. He’s a good bottom 6 player that brings some grit/toughness to a team that will be rebuilding/developing young players. He’s definitely a guy that if he found his game we’d be able to flip him a few years down the line. Low cap hit, esp 4/5 years from now, who cares.

Jan, in your opinion, do you think Drury will buy, sell, or a little of both.

I can definitely see this moron trading Panarin for let’s say a 1st 2nd prospect etc and then turning around and using that to get a guy like Sherwood.

      To respond to previous posts…

Except, Frederic hardly plays center. Hes taken a total of 94 faceoffs all year, by comparison… Laba has taken 358 faceoffs, thats already more faceoffs than Frederic has taken in any single season of his career. But I get it, this is one player you’ve been begging for for years.

2 goal lead, blown. Sinking fast. Buffalo fired their GM and went on a run, Rangers should try the same thing!!!

I don’t care where he plays during a rebuild. He’d be a good addition to the bottom 6 on a team that would have young players on it.
