The Detroit Red Wings are winning right now, however the gaps are showing. Gaps in defense continue to cause concern, although the team sits atop

      Hi everyone,

nice win from Detroit, especially against an agressive Ottawa (did I already stressed how much I hated their game ?). Chukchuk had a scrum next to the bench and a talk with Kane, probably trying to say “come on the ice, man” but Kane stayed cool and calm and asked the ref “how many penalties” ? Clever attitude against a stupid man, whatever you can think about his game.
Shots against and shots for were better than last time too, it is a good sign, not being afraid of these kind of teams playing dirty. They will play against such teams if they go to the playoffs.
The problem is that they will need a bit more depth and no major injured players, and Yzerman doesn’t want to pay too much (he’s right, IMO), so let’s see what he will find. Or maybe he thinks the winning griffins will add depth whenever Todd will need it ?
Confidence is a lot in sport, let’s hope Detroit keeps it for a while and get it back after the olympics !

I am glad Y did not go all out for Andersson. He was not going to sign in Detroit, so the “interest” that was exhibited only pumped up the price. Soucy is nothing but a depth rental and should only fetch a 4th. A better solution would be Braeden Schneider. Y should be all over this if he becomes available. The D has needed fixing and a 2nd pair guy for what seems forever. It still needs fixing and will cost dearly.
