If you weren’t a straight, white, Christian man born in the USA (who votes Republican), he’d inherently, while encouraging others, to think less of you. He was someone who made millions being a political agitator who belittle the suffering of others (including victims of gun violence). While no one deserves to be executed for their beliefs, he certainly made a lot of money contributing to the deep political divide in the United States.
Again, it’s disgusting what happened, but you can’t make a lucrative career kicking hornet’s nests then get outraged when you get stung.

the more i learn about him the more of an asshole he seems like, yeah.
someone also said he was actively in the middle of giving a smarmy answer about trans people when it happened. not sure how true that part is, but if it is it seems like a fitting way to go out.
