    The backstory:

We went with another couple to a Seattle Kraken game this year. One friend was so grateful for us organizing the trip (we saw the Bills murder the Seattle Seahawks a few days later!) she bought me a Seattle Kraken pint glass at the game.

We starting some beer-fueled talk, and I got the idea of getting a pint glass from every NHL arena I have seen a game at (19 and counting).

Then the idea expanded to a pint glass from “every sporting event you have attended and paid admission” (or at least were comped tickets).

This took me a while tonight, while watching the Hurricanes eliminate the Capitals.

List ‘em if you got ‘em.

Too many Lightning games to count, but none in the last 20 years. Saw several during their inaugural season.

A couple of NFL Buccaneers games back in the late 70s during the orange and white era.

One Yankees spring training game in the late 90s.

One Rowdies MLS futbol match, also in the late 70s or early 80s.

I think that’s it. I love hockey, but don’t really get into other sports. I went to the baseball game because my weed dealer had free tix.

Edit : I went to a pro sprint-car race when I was a little kid. I don’t remember much except how loud it was and the smell of exhaust fumes.

    Rock
    Stampeders
    Bills

Saw a rodeo in Calgary, although not the Stampede 🙁

    A few WWF/WWE events

Too many OHL games to remember, went specifically to see McDavid a couple times

Homan and Bottcher at a curling mixed doubles this year

    Canadian Open Golf

Saw Jai Alai in Tampa a long time ago

Final weekend in Boston vs. the Jays for the penant (Jay lost)

I was at the game where Winfield hit the seagull. Only people who were there will know what Winfield did the next inning.

EDIT: forgot, a few Toronto Blizzard and Toronto Toros games

Do Americans count the CFL as a sporting event?

NHL in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto
    Raptors in Toronto
Numerous curling events in Edmonton. Which if I do say these are the best events. See the guys all liquored up in the Brier patch and then curling 2 hours later
    World Juniors in Edmonton
    AJHL across alberta
    BCHL
    Oil Kings
Raw back when Mick Foley warned Austin he was in trouble. Dude Love made an appearance following week.
Few other WWF events that weren’t Raw
    Drillers indoor soccer
AAA Baseball and some sort of lower level that I could’ve probably played in
    NHL draft
Numerous boxing events, but nothing really major that anyone would know about

I really want to go to a darts competition. It looks like the rowdiest sporting event out there.

I was at a local bar one time that had 10 boards or something with probably a 100 people in a tournament.

That was something to watch, just yelling and cheering the whole time. I wish I would’ve stayed to the end to see if anyone could hit the board though.

Could imagine live it would be a wild event

i’ve been to all 4 philly teams and the phantoms when they were here.

    ahl all star game

i know i’ve been to a camden riversharks game but i have no recollection of it.

i went up to the godforsaken meadowlands to watch the godforsaken devils play the godforsaken leafs once (godforsaken 3-3 tie).

does watching drag races at the track count?

there are more i’m sure but i can’t think of them right now.

    Drag races interesting….

I forgot I was at Indy car in Edmonton when we had it. Really loved the qualifying and lower end races they had, but when Sunday came and I tried to watch the actual race on tv it was garbage.

i guess it’s not pro. pros raced there but i was just there on nights when normal people paid to race their cars. my 1982 toyota corolla took like 22 seconds to get through the quarter mile. i thought it would never get there.

it was called atco raceway but it’s closed now.

So if you want to go with the original criteria, it’s kinda “any sporting event where you had to pay admission – and hopefully be able to buy a souvenir pint glass to prove you were there.”

Getting tickets for free still counts – as long as they had some sort of monetary value.

I had to pay 10 bucks to go watch my cousin’s 9 year old play in a tourney, does that count?

Actually it ended up costing me as much as a NHL game after buying tickets for silent auction, raffles etc.. Plus you know the kid suckered me into buying him junk food after the games.
