Without Bedard this stretch is going to be tough.

I think it’s time to have a difficult conversation about Soda. He’s become a leaky faucet. I imagine when they bring Brossoit up they will trade Soda or release him.

I guess we’ll see what the rest of the roster is made of. The team knows what they have to do to win, now comes the hard part can they actually be discipline enough and consistent enough to do it.

If Soderblom got waived, he might very well make it to Rockford.

Unless I read the rules wrong, AHL conditioning assignments are capped at 2 weeks. That’s Tuesday for Brossoit, and the Icehogs don’t play again until Saturday.
Brossoit will likely get a look with the Hawks.
However, he has been injured his entire career. He is 32 years old. He has not played an NHL game in almost 2 years.
Expectations should be kept realistic. (fingers crossed though!)
Even if he looks good, we don’t know if they changed their thoughts on trading him because Soderblom has struggled.
If Bedard is done playing until after the Olympics, they might just keep Soderblom and only use him sparingly.
The Hawks next back-to-back games are the 27th/28th. That could be the next time they use the backup, unless they think Knight needs extra rest.

They can handle rostering 3 goalies over the short term, though I still say it is reckless to only have 6 rostered d-men.
