ParticipantMontreal is the best option from that list. I do think Crosby would fit with Colorado also.
Rangers & Leafs – just don’t see it happening, as I don’t think Crosby really would care to take himself into the mega markets to try to fix teams with issues.
Edmonton – I don’t think Crosby would be inclined to take a trade to Edmonton to help McDavid win a cup. Especially given there is no certainty that McD will be back next season.
Missing from your list:
1. Florida – I have no doubt Crosby would gel with that team and would enjoy the tax advantage and playing with his buddy Marchand chasing a cup. Can Florida offer much of a return?… not really but who knows. Pens could take Lundell & a 1st and improve their odds this year at McKenna.
2. Vegas – Vegas would need to find a taker for Karlsson to make the cap work but they have a couple 1sts they could offer the Pens. Crosby & Stone would be the best, oldest, toughest C/W combo to play against in the league. If I am Crosby, I want to go to a complete team that has some level of grit and two way play, so he can slide in and not have to try to make up for major deficits on the team he is going to. Montreal is the exception to that rule, but I think they are such a long shot it wouldnt have to be cup or bust if Crosby went there like it would be in Toronto.
Crosby centring Marchand on that 3rd line would be the ultimate depth scoring. I would kinda like to see it but just no haha.

ParticipantGuess they are trying to keep it more interesting than the normal Montreal and Colorado talk. But really the rangers. Now there’s a bad take.

ParticipantI don’t know much about the ownership side and if fsg is doing a good job but it seems like they are willing to spend on coaches, scouts, etc. at least ride fsg’s pockets out till we draft McKenna and DuPont and we are golden for 21 more years.

ParticipantHe should
Come back, but his role should be a figurehead like the Queen.July 15, 2025 at 6:47 am in reply to: Mike Fink: Five Potential Karlsson Trade Partners for the Penguins #1673210inchterror
ParticipantIf I was an NHL GM, I would wake up every morning thinking about how to fleece Ken Holland. EK to LAK!
Any of the California gms. Don’t know what they are smoking out there but it must be good. I’m sure Doobs can convince holland he is 1 EK away from defeating Edmonton in round 1. I honestly thought ek could be the difference maker for Dallas as a 2RD, plus their whole right side was pretty weak.

ParticipantThe goalies are no longer left out. Now we have too many players at every position.
Lmao true. But silovs seems like a young stud. The Vancouver people I know are not impressed and I’ve seen plenty trade proposals where he is the main piece, not a toss away for a 4th and a bum prospect. Seems like a good trade for us, and maybe good competition for murushov in the Ahl. As long as they get rid of the larson and Lindbergh haha. TBH they seem pretty damn stacked with potential at goalie in the future.

ParticipantWe seem to have about 2-3 too many forwards, 2 extra D, so presumably more trades will come before the season.
Can Brunicke play NCAA this year if they don’t think he’s ready for the NHL? I would think that’s a better option for players who are physically ready for it.
Edit: I think the answer for him is no because he played a few AHL games last year.
I read somewhere that Brunicke would have to go back to juniors this year. Didn’t specify why. I think it would be best to do what Anaheim was doing and keep him up (if he shows he’s close to deserving it) and closely monitor playing time. Play him, sit him a bit to watch tape and work in the gym, repeat.
Can you imagine how good this D would be if it was 2017. Letang, ek, dumba on that right side. Meow!

ParticipantGood move for assets and we had too many LD anyways.
This is how all blogs should be setup in the forum, thanks for that meltzer, also flyers suck.
Not sure if true but I read that per frank seravelli starting in 26/27 teams will allow 1 19 yr old to play in the ahl per season.

ParticipantSeems like EK will be leaving for sure now. Maybe flip Dumba at the deadline. Got a 2nd to take one year….pretty good IMO.
I think Letang is supposed to be out the first few months to start the year if I remember correctly. So if that’s true I can’t see trading ek until he’s back. Unless there truly is a secret tank going on. Great use of assets though on this trade. Free pickup last year on a way too crowded LD side for a second and a terrible defensive dman who should up the entertainment value of the on ice product though.
