They are swinging for the fence in this draft

This is where the accumulation of draft picks over the last few years pays off (hopefully).

I said last year that this summer (2025) is when the Habs would make significant moves … seems to be happening like predicted.
Still a lot of decisions to be made (ie. Armia, Matheson, etc) … stay tuned.

Kyrou is a good player but not a center. that would probably mean Dach will get another chance. meh

When teams have a good centerman in the age group we’re looking for, they understandably don’t want to trade them.

Darche wanted him in the trade. Dont forget the Isles may end up with 2 good prospects in this as well.
But you still do it to get Dobson. He is a young 1st defenseman in this league.

the focus is now on that 2nd line (see the Jordan Kyrou rumours)

Oh!, I’m VERY HAPPY with the Dobson trade … we got the better player in the trade.
It’s quite a coup by HuGo … getting a 25 years old talented RHD will really strengthen the right side of our defense.
RHDs are always hard to get.

Yeah, just saw on RDS that we’re in the race to acquire Kyrou … should be interesting to see what HuGo can get done to help our offense.

I say that all the time!

I’m kinda bummed out we had to trade Heineman as I liked Mr. Emile a lot.
But I understand you have to give to receive and Dobson is a solid addition to our blue line.

    “For sure.

But it was more than just drafting mistakes – they had terrible a terrible development team.

I wonder how some of those players might have turned out if they had the development programs the Habs have put into place since Gorton and Hughes showed up?

Who knows… but I think it is just as important as good drafting.

I may not like some of MSL’s decision making during games, but from him down to Laval and the rest of the development team that works with players in all leagues, that has made a world of difference.”” – Mash

Stephane Lefebvre was running a country club … very few players graduated from the AHL under the Bergevin/Timmins/Lefebvre regime.
That’s why Bergevin was forced to trade away picks to keep the team competitive (and keep his job), his only strategy was to keep Price happy and build a turtle shell around him … and that’s why Molson eventually cleaned house.
I will never say enough how grateful I am to have seen their incompetent asses go away … we’ve been improving ever since once we committed to a full rebuild.

I just copy paste the original message (with author’s name) and then respond.
Easier with no fuss, it looks cleaner and it works every time.

Hahaha!, I’m sure the “youngins” won’t get the reference.

PS: Yep, we can get quite “creative” with quotes. 🙂
