ParticipantReal lack of hockey news at this point of the summer… still like 6-7+ week ’til training camps.
Boring.
Bring on the Lawn Darts.
Mash
Participanthe’ll buy us a house!
Playing the long game!
Mash
Participantmaybe they love their kid too much?
Maybe it is like hoping you win the lottery by buying a bunch of tickets at once, thinking they have a better chance of making it rich hoping their kid becomes a mediocre back-up in the NHL and makes $3M per season….
Mash
Participantdamn, these people are rich.
Or used all their savings….
Mash
ParticipantNot only that but sending him to a camp for perfecting the position when you never played? You could tell the coaches didn’t even know where to start with him, he could barely execute the drills.
And that shit was almost 700$ for two days!
How dare you criticize parents for loving their kid too much!
Also, you know the Dad is a failed goalie.
Mash
ParticipantGave them my phone number… saying to call me if he ever stops playing.
I like my odds.
That seems crazy.
But good for you if you get a deal out of it.
Mash
Participantwhy in the world did they do that if the kid wasn’t already committed? oh well, your gain. i hope you guys get the gear.
Rich people, amiright…..
Mash
ParticipantDidn’t want you to think he was a goaltender for ants.
He is already giant size in Pat’s eyes.
Mash
ParticipantHe’s slowly growing out of them though so he’ll switch to white/red pads during the season. Just didn’t want to switch during tryouts.
You did not need to post actual size.

ParticipantMy son spent his weekend with both Waite brothers (one former and the other still goaltender coach in the NHL).
Stéphane Waite might be a terrible informer, but my god these guys know what to do with goaltenders. The work they put in for two days was something else. My boy is absolutely fired up for his upcoming season.
That is pretty cool.
I remember when I went to hockey camp, we had Scotty Bowman come one day to talk about whatever (cannot recall, probably went over my head), and then Bob Gainey came and worked with the forwards and Larry Robinson with the defensemen.
I was never that great a player, but it was one of the best times of my early years.

Participantand what color?!
And do they have wings?
Mash
ParticipantIt is a wonderful 64 in your American degrees right now, with an almost perfect high of 75-77 this afternoon.
This is what summer should always be like.
Mash
ParticipantAnyways, it was nice here since Friday (a little rain, not much), windows open, big fluffy clouds or clear skies, fresh air.
Been enjoying heading out on the bike to the ice cream shop or just walking over to the park with a book and relaxing.
This is the kind of summer weather I could learn to love.
Back to heat dome on Thursday though.
Mash
Participantwe have a couple cooler days here too. today should only reach 84 american degrees. i am going to take my pants off and go outside. it’s nj, weirder things are going on out there.
People will probably think you are just going to Walmart.
Mash
Participantgood morning!
It is very nice outside.
I want to go out.
Even if I have to put on pants.
