ah bin tabarnak, I got a ban on HB until Sept. 19th for posting a laffie while quoting Waterboy’s comment…
all he said was “always a fun read!” in Smillie’s blog, and I was 100% sure he was being sarcastic loll.
what the actual (frank).
????100% deserved.

yeah, I was kidding lol.
but at the same time with the cap going up it would be amazeballs if they somehow managed to sign both players without messing up the team’s salary structure too badly…
both players will make a lot of money but are sound investments imho.
I think, with the cap projected to go up significantly and core guys we have on good deals for the next 4-6 years, if the Habs could lock up both for $8-10M each they could make it work.
Not sure that is a realistic view on contract they would sign, though.

ParticipantAlso, my Spotify daylist is currently offerign me a selection called: Warm Lush Saturday Night
“Here are some Lush, warm, improvisation, indie pop, feels, vinyasa yoga – inspired by your listening on Saturday night.”
So there is that….
Mash
ParticipantWe about to be over 100 of your American degrees over the next few days, maybe heading to 110+.
So I tried to enjoy the most of today, outside, while it was decent.

it’s all the rage now.
Just think, in about 20 year (those of us still alive) will be leaving this place for a new site.
We should prepare for the next great migration.

ParticipantPat rightfully suggested:
I think he was out because of covid complications…?
he might surprise us and actually play well, who knows.
I thought it was a physical injury. TSN saying Toews missed the past two NHL seasons after stepping away from hockey, citing the effects of Chronic Immune Response Syndrome and long COVID.
Did not realize that was the reason, somewhat surprised more players did not get hit with long COVID tbh… I know a few people who took months and months to get better.

well the important thing is that you’re here now.
Perhaps true.
What is more important is that it is 5 hours ’til the weekend.
Mash
ParticipantBack to hockey…. looking at the various trade bait lists really has nothing of interest to the Habs out there.

i guess you didn’t see my butt filler lyrics yesterday.
worth millions i’d say.
Maybe Dolly will do a duet with you….

I’ll take “something she never said to you” for 100, Alex.
More of a reference to her (in)famous assets.

it was very frowned upon by the country music industry but I kinda liked Beyoncé’s rendition of Jolene lol.
Apparently she wrote the lyrics and music for Jolene and I Will Always Love You in one day.
Millions of dollars for a few hours work.
Genius.
Mash
ParticipantWhatever you think of her music, Dolly is amazing and a great person.
And this is crazy, but she has been doing lots of covers/originals with a wide range of artists (Pitbull, Linda Perry, McCartney/Starr, Rob Halford, Ann Wilson, Cyndi Lauper, John Fogerty, Steven Tyler, Peter Frampton, Joan Jett etc… etc…).
She is on a mission!
Mash
ParticipantWOAH! That is big!
LOL.
Mash
ParticipantNot sure of Dolly Parton is showing the world she is still a force of nature, or if Motley Crue are desperately seeing attention and some form of relevance.

yeah I get it. without creating any false hopes I find it’s actually a good time to be excited as a habs fan, and even if they don’t accomplish all they wanted to do in the off-season I think they’re still on the right path, but I understand the realism/idealism dichotomy.
I am not really having false hope, or specific expectations (other than to expect the unexpected).
I am more fascinated by what the HuGo tandem are doing to improve the club (trades / off-season / draft), however that goes.
I find it as interesting as the on-ice improvements / games.
(And until this last year, maybe even more interesting than the games themselves).
